Someone asked me the other day what to do when it seems like their Spiritual Mind Treatments aren’t working. I answered “Have Faith.” They looked at me with a “yea right” look replying “I do, but …” and launched into their story. That's the thing about faith. It’s something one has to develop and grow into. If you don't have it, it’s hard to understand. And if you do, no explanation is necessary.

Ernest Holmes wrote “Faith is a mental attitude which no longer permits itself to conceive of an opposite.” “No longer permits itself” … this means letting go of the story once and for all. How hard this seems sometimes!! As the actress Gloria Manon said during her powerful “Breakthrough Drama” workshop I attended back in the early ‘80’s – “We are so attached to our precious turds.”

My favourite quote on faith is by the Indian poet Rabindranath Tagore: “Faith is the bird that feels the light when the dawn is still dark. To me, this says, no matter what the appearances are, no matter what I have created around me, no matter how dark my life or situation seems, I can FEEL the Powerful Presence of the Light within and around me.

The Quaker theologian Elton Trueblood wrote: “Faith is not belief without proof, but trust without reservation.” And there’s the bottom line! Trusting. How does one develop trust in a world that seems untrustworthy? I suppose the first thing to do is to stop trying to make The Divine in our image! Meditate upon the omniscience, omnipresence and omnipotence of The Divine. Upon the infinite intelligence and unconditional love of this Power for Good in the universe that we are always using. Go back to God.

SPIRITUAL MIND TREATMENT

The Truth of me, and all of us, is that we are living, breathing, expressions of the One Life, the One Heart, the One Mind that we call The Divine. This is the Source and substance of all that is. It is the originator of all our dreams, and the manifestation of those dreams.

Knowing this, I now declare I am willing to let go of the stories that no longer serve me. I accept my place in the process of creation, and I joyfully create new stories to live by. If I have been living a story of lack or limitation, I wipe it away and live by the abundance of the universe. If I have been living a story of aloneness, I now choose to live in Oneness. Any stories of ill health are replaced by stories of vibrant life.

And if I have been living stories of great good, I now live in even greater good!

I trust Spiritual Law to work wonderfully in my life today. I am so grateful I can set these intentions and experience the Divine Life. Life is good, and all is well with me NOW. And so it is.

Yesterday was the 6^th anniversary of my arrival here. I can remember so clearly being in the car and looking up to read “Welcome to Canada.” It had been a grey day, and just as I looked up, the sun shone through the clouds in what I call “saint lights.” It felt like a blessing!!

And the blessing continues. Even though these past six years have been both lonely and difficult, and exciting and fulfilling, I know I have always been experiencing the perfection of Life. I have experienced constant mental and emotional growth. I have revealed the Truth of my being. The woman who drove under that sign has matured spiritually as well as physically!

As I look back, I see that my strength is in the ability to Trust. I KNOW on all levels that there is an Infinitely Intelligent Essence that is within and around all of us. It is absolutely everywhere present. I know It only has our highest good in mind, and that we are the cause and creator of all we experience. I know we are choosing our next experience, either consciously or unconsciously, by what we are choosing at this exact moment.

This morning I choose to be grateful. I am so grateful for the teachings of the Science of Mind. The SOM has been a life saver and a mental & emotional health saver!! I am grateful for the people I have attracted around me to play in this infinite Field of creative potentiality. I am grateful for YOU because you are one of them. I am grateful to have the consciousness to be able do what I love to do, and be supported in doing it. I am grateful for the family, both two legged and four, that I have created around me. I am grateful to live in one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. I am grateful that Spirit in me, as me, is living a magnificent life!! Thank You, Thank You, Infinite Spirit!!

SPIRITUAL MIND TREATMENT

Infinite Spirit within me is alive, awake and aware. It is flowing through me, manifesting It’s Life as me. I accept my spiritual perfection.

My physical body is the outpicturing of this perfection. It is the manifestation of the Life, the energy, the love that is Spirit. I accept my perfect body.

Everything about my life works harmoniously – my relationships, my finances, my creative expression. It is all Spirit, which is perfectly expressing through me.

I have a constant expectancy of living a magnificent life, therefore I do.

I live and move and have my being in the perfection of this present moment. In this moment I am guided and provided for in a first class manner knowing only the highest and best for all.

I am so grateful for my conscious awareness of the Truth of my being, how the Law works and the power of my choices. I am grateful for the revealing of our spiritual magnificence! Today is a good day to be alive!

And so it is.

I was watching Rev. Kathianne Lewis, pastor of the Seattle Center for Spiritual Living, on the internet the other day, and heard an affirmation that is now stuck to my bulletin board above my desk:

I AM WILLING TO LIVE A LIFE IN WHICH THERE ARE NO COMPLAINTS!!

Have you noticed how much we humans complain!?!? About our health, our wealth, our jobs, our mates, our children, our parents or ourselves? At first I took that affirmation to be about other people - “I am willing to live a life in which no one complains around me.” But the affirmation wouldn’t let go. Remembering “they” are my mirror, I ordered my-not-so-silent witness (grin) to do some research work. I found when I was using the words “if only”, “why didn’t”, “why doesn’t” or “should” I was in the middle of complaining!! I also realized that complaining is just another form of blaming!

The word complain comes from the old Latin meaning “to lament.” It seems we spend a lot of time “lamenting our fate” when in Truth, we are where we are in life because we chose what we are experiencing. Perhaps we didn’t choose it consciously, we might have chosen by not choosing something different.

The motivational author, Brian Tracy, writes: "I found every single successful person I've ever spoken to had a turning point and the turning point was where they made a clear specific unequivocal decision that they were not going to live like this anymore.”

I AM WILLING TO LIVE A LIFE IN WHICH THERE ARE NO COMPLAINTS!!

Absolutely!! This means not only do I not have complaints – there are no complaints around me as well. I choose to take responsibility for my experiences! I live a life of gratitude for all that I have, all I am and all that will be!!

Dr. Holmes writes: "When the time comes that nothing goes forth from you other than what you would be glad to have return, then you will have reached your heaven."

SPIRITUAL MIND TREATMENT

Divine Mind is infinitely intelligent and unconditionally loving. It is absolutely everywhere present, including within me. This Mind is my mind, and is powerful beyond measure.

I celebrate the power of choice as I call it forth consciously. I accept both Love and Law flowing through me revealing my perfect Truth. I choose to have any inner conflicts that have shown up in my life as lack, limitation, not enoughness or victimization, be transformed by my knowing Truth. I declare I live a life without complaints. I choose love, joy and perfect harmony with my world. I choose to live my true nature – the nature of The Divine.

These choices fill me with gratitude and a deep inner peace fills my heart and mind. Today is a good day to be alive! And so it is.

Yesterday I was at the mall, spending some of that delightful money I won, and doing one of my favorite things: having a decadent coffee drink and wandering around people watching. It was obvious that a lot of Mother’s Day shopping was happening. Women seemed to be shopping with a definite gift in mind. Some men herded their small children into housewares departments while others wandered around looking at a lot of things, ending up at flower kiosks or candy stores.

Yes, most of us are thinking about our Mothers this weekend. Some of us are thinking about being Mothers. Some are thinking fond thoughts, and some just want to avoid the holiday.

In my meditation this morning I remembered being about 6 years old, sitting on the wall between our house and our next door neighbor’s. I wasn’t allowed out of our yard, however, I was trying to make friends with the little girl who lived next door. I remember so clearly watching her Mother bring out a sweater, helping her put it on, and giving her a hug. I could tell the little girl was enfolded in her Mother’s love as well as her arms. My heart hurt from longing for that type of experience.

When I was 33, my birth sister found me, our brother and our Mother. After talking a couple of times on the phone, I received a note from my Mother that said “I love you my sweet daughter.” I cried years of tears as I realized I had never heard that before. A month or so later, at our first meeting, I felt my Mother’s arms around me, and knew I was experiencing what I had longed for as a 6 year old. It was an amazing experience.

This weekend I choose to be grateful for the Mother that birthed me because I am alive! I’m grateful for the Mother that adopted me at 2 ½ because in between her alcoholic rages she gave me an appreciation for the beauty in this world. I’m grateful for being sent away to live at a girl’s catholic school, because I discovered the Divine Mother which made it easier to be alive. I’m grateful for the foster Mother that taught me the true meaning of family as she opened her heart as well as her home to this 16 year old runaway. And I know that as I grew up, my affinity for Mother Mary attracted me to the spiritual Mothers I’m grateful to have had: Rev. Helen Street and Mama Luanna.

If you’re one of those who has difficulty with this holiday because of the pains of your childhood, or the pains you might be experiencing as Mothers, Grandmothers, or Stepmothers – there is always something to be grateful for. I invite you to focus on that. Remember to Love everyone unconditionally, including yourself. You are your own best Mother!!

SPIRITUAL MIND TREATMENT

There is that within me that is the Divine Mother. It celebrates my life, as It is the cause and the source of my life, and lives through me, as me. It is unconditional Love. This Love is always giving Itself to me.

I now say YES to this Love. I feel it deep within my being, and allow myself to experience It without any conditions. I am the Beloved, loved beyond measure. I accept this. It is my Truth.

This Love fills me with the strength and courage to live my life magnificently. It constantly reminds me I have nothing to be afraid of, nothing to be ashamed of. I am the child of Love made manifest, and this is good, very good.

I am so grateful for embodying the consciousness of Divine Love. I celebrate the Divine Mother with joy. And so it is.

Dear Ones,

Last weekend while visiting our shopping mall, I filled out an entry blank for a $1,500 shopping spree. Tuesday I got a call saying I’d won!! Not only did I win the shopping spree, but I also won two hours with a fashion consultant.

Whoo Hoo!! Thank you Spirit!!

Someone said “You are so lucky” when I told them about it, and suddenly I remembered sitting on my hotel room balcony the first morning in Giza, Egypt, years ago, watching the sun painting the top of the Great Pyramid gold. I thought to myself “I’m so lucky to be here.” Almost immediately I heard a voice say – “Lucky!?! Luck had nothing to do with it!! It’s consciousness!”

So I smiled at the person who had just said I was so lucky and replied, “I have a winning consciousness.” As the words came out of my mouth, I remembered looking in my closet one day last week and saying to myself, with great emotion (ok, I was whining) “I want some new clothes!”

I just love the way Spirit works!! The loom of the Universe gathers threads of consciousness, weaving together our desires with the right events at the right moment so that our desires are fulfilled. Did I consciously Treat for new clothes – or to win the shopping spree? No. However, I did state a request with a lot of energy attached to it. We are always in creation mode. Our dominant thoughts are the threads The Universe is weaving to make the tapestry of our lives.

The phrase “What were you thinking?” has been heard by many of us with negative connotations. Yet it is one of the most important questions we can ask ourselves as we become clear about our dominant thoughts and our place in the greater tapestry of Life. Remembering and owning our portion of the creative process makes it easier to realize how powerful we are and a lot more fun!!

SPIRITUAL MIND TREATMENT

I choose today to open my mind, heart, and every cell and atom of my being to the awareness of the Divine Presence. This infinitely intelligent creative energy is the Source and Substance of all there is, including me.

How grateful I am to realize my place in the creative process. I release all thoughts of littleness or lack. I accept that Infinite Intelligence is at work in me, as me at every moment. I pay attention to what I am thinking because of this. I declare I have a clear mind, and a pure heart. I also declare I am living in Divine Joy and my life reflects this with ease and grace.

God is good, and all is well with my world. I am so grateful for this awareness.

I release these words into spiritual law, claiming all that I have spoken for is here now. And so it is.

I just love the creativity of some of the churches around town. The other day driving down 200 St. I saw a marquee that read

“Prayer – the absolute wireless”

At least that’s what I remember it reading – I also remember saying YES! as I drove by and had good chuckle.

Prayer IS the absolute wireless, and what is prayer but the ability to tap into Infinite Intelligence at any moment, for anything. Indeed, we are always praying without ceasing, as the Master Teacher Jesus said. Now is the time to pray rightly! There’s no fees, no roaming charges, no taxes – nothing to pay at all. Oh wait a moment, yes there is! And what is that you ask? It’s our understanding and attention!!

Dr. Holmes writes in “Living the Science of Mind”:

Divine Guidance is just as definite a Principle in the Universe as is the Law of Attraction and Repulsion. Your use of Divine Guidance must be just as conscious as an architect drawing a plan; just as certain as a mathematician solving a problems, and the answer is just as definite.”

Our “wireless” can never be turned off. It is a direct line to the Infinite, and will respond to us as we respond to It.

Dr. Holmes also writes: “We know this same Law, working for us, is inhibited or accelerated in It’s action through our faith and acceptance of It.”

I wonder how many of us are struggling with some problem, looking for solutions in the outer world. If only we would believe that all answers are within!!

There is One Mind – that Mind is infinitely intelligent. That Mind is absolutely everywhere – it is The Divine in Action. It moves through me, manifesting Life as me, directed by my thoughts and feelings.

Today I allow myself to remember I am always tapped into Mind. There is no way I could separate myself from It, as It is all there is. Therefore, I relax and remember that anything I have been struggling with is easily and effortless resolved by my turning within. Infinite Intelligence responds immediately as I allow It, and so I do. I am divinely guided in all my affairs, physically, emotionally, and mentally. I am still and hear the guidance easily. I respond to it with joy and gratitude.

I am so grateful to know that I have the absolute wireless! And so it is!

I remember director Stephen Simon standing in our Centre one Sunday morning when we were meeting on the boat at Granville Island, stating his intention clearly and passionately to change the caliber of movies coming from Hollywood.

I am so delighted to see the fruits of his intention made manifest and I know this is just the beginning! On his website, Simon states: “Spiritual Cinema examines who we are and why we are here and illuminates the human condition through stories and images that inspire us to explore what we can be as humanity when we operate at our very best. Spiritual Cinema reflects our beliefs and values and illustrates their impact upon our lives and our society.”

This is BIG! Most of the world is bemoaning the state of the world as they watch the news and read the papers. They are seeing the glass half empty (or worse). Yet, if we turn away from that, we will notice the proliferation of positive books, TV shows, movies, songs, etc., and we will realize we are really a lot further along in consciousness than we might have thought!!

The message of these new movies, etc., is just that – WE CAN CHOOSE!

Religious Science tells us that if we wish to live a better life and leave a better world for our children, we MUST choose! In Truth we cannot help but choose – all life is a series of choices, so what we really teach is to pay attention to what we are choosing. Indeed, to choose to live consciously!

We are living in exciting times – in the throes of a huge paradigm shift – and I, for one, am glad to be doing my part in the shifting! How about you?

We live in an infinite field of creative potentiality. This field is Divine Energy – It is the Source and the home and the substance of all things, including us. It moves in, through and as us. It is infinitely intelligent and unconditionally loving. It IS, and that is all there is.

Knowing this, I am grateful to be consciously aware of my part of the creation process. I choose now to focus on the good, the True and the beautiful things of this world. I choose to focus on Life made manifest as each of us, in grace and joy.

I declare that each of us begins to see how we make a difference in our world. I know we now live with eyes open, hearts open, minds clear and hands willing to do the work. We are the creators of our future and I know we are making it a good one!

With a grateful heart, I release these words, celebrating their Truth. And so it is.

Most of us have experienced a broken heart – and some of us are still clinging to that brokenness as a precious wound … a medal to show we’ve been through the relationship wars. All we can think about is our wounds.

Sri Easwaran’s quote reminds us to go beyond those wounds, and realize we’re not the only ones with broken hearts. This is one of the common stories of humanity - a part of our spiritual evolution. The quote also reminds us to have compassion, and realize that on a much larger level, we are opening our hearts to experience a greater understanding of Eternal Life Itself.

Dr. Holmes writes in the Science of Mind: “The spiral of Life is upward, carries us forward, not backward. Eternal and progressive expansion is its law and there are no breaks in its continuity. It seems to me that our evolution is the result of an unfolding consciousness of that which already is, and needs but to be realized to become a fact of everyday life.”

This is Easter for me – understanding what I have crucified myself with and for, allowing myself to grieve it, being compassionate with myself, and letting it go. Easter is about coming to an understanding that my stories are a microcosm of the macrocosm of the collective consciousness. Again having compassion, and allowing all of us to rise above our wounds, knowing Life is an eternal gift, and that every wounding, every broken heart, is an opportunity to move forward on our individual evolutionary spirals, which in turn moves humanity forward.

What greater Love can one give than this?

There is One Life, this Life is Divine Life, and this is the Life I am living. Divine Life is the life of all, moving in, through, and as us, right here and right now.

I celebrate this Life, knowing It is unconditionally loving.

Today I choose to use the energies of Easter to allow myself to be resurrected from all I have buried myself in. I let go of all thoughts of lack and limitation, disease or aloneness. I know who I am – Spirit in form!

I open my heart to feel compassion for my brothers and sisters as they move up their evolutionary spirals. I support them in knowing the Truth of their Being just as I know mine. I know we are all in this Life together – because there is only the One Life. My compassionate heart is open, and I love everything that is. My love warms and supports all it comes in contact with and more.

I celebrate Eternal Life, and am so grateful for being awake and aware to experience all Life has to offer. And so it is.

Last Sunday, Leonard Eaglecloud shared a story that works wonderfully with our Investigation of the 9 Insights we are doing this month. (from the book The Celestine Prophecy)

One fall, he and a young woman were sitting under a gorgeous maple tree, playing music, with hats in front of them to accept donations from passers by. They started talking and the young woman shared with him that she really needed $20, yet her hat was empty. Leonard asked her to know there were angels everywhere, and to believe she would have the help she needed.

They sat in silence for a moment, Leonard praying for her and the young woman breathing into believing. As they opened their eyes, a large beautifully coloured leaf floated down from the tree, landing right in her hat. A taxi stopped, a man jumped out, and with a thick accent, said he had to have that leaf! He was heading to the airport on his way home and wanted to share the colours of fall with his family. He reached in his wallet, took out his last Canadian twenty, exchanged it for the leaf, jumped back in the taxi and was gone!

Was that man an angel? Maybe. Was this a coincidence? Not!! An awesome Infinite Intelligence made that man in that taxi notice that particular leaf as it just to be falling right into her hat! He also happened to have one Canadian twenty left. All of it occurred to respond to her request for $20!! How delightful it is to watch the workings of the Universe!! And how amazing to know that the whole Power of the Universe is behind our every request!!

I believe these “coincidences” are happening to all of us all the time. They are like Love Notes from the Universe. Let’s open our eyes to see the possibilities around us, accepting our Love Notes with joy and gratitude!! Start noticing the coincidences in your life and you will see how wonderfully the Universe works for and through you!!

SPIRITUAL MIND TREATMENT

Today I recognize and acknowledge the awesome Power and Presence of the Universe in my life. I know It has always been here, is now, and always will be.

I now declare my eyes, heart and mind are open to see the Love Notes the Universe has for me. I am consciously aware of seeming coincidences, and recognize them as the workings of Infinite Intelligence in answer to my desires. I accept that there is so much more going on here than I could possibly ever imagine, and I am grateful to be able to recognize whatever part of It I can.

I know that as I open myself, I am opening to a greater experience of The Divine, not only for myself but for all. I celebrate my abilities and willingness to do this. I am grateful for my expanded awareness of Life. And so it is.

Dr. Holmes writes on pg 154 of the Science of Mind:

“Every day and every hour we are meeting the eternal realities of life, and in such degree as we co-operate with these eternal realities in love, in peace, in wisdom, and in joy – believing and receiving – we are automatically blessed.”

All of Life is telling us to open up to a greater realization of that Eternal Reality we call God. How do we do that? Religious Science gives us the great tools of Spiritual Mind Treatment, meditation, visualization, affirmations, etc., and we can use these tools to work with the answer that Dr. Holmes gave us in the above statement … Believing and Receiving.

Dr. Holmes truly believed this statement and was open to receiving the benefits of this statement being firmly established in mind. Because of this, we have our wonderful teaching, and many examples of how it works for all.

Believing means we can no longer tell the stories we’ve been using to excuse our lack and limitation. So many of us suffer from some degree of plomitus – “Poor Little Ole Me.” We unconsciously tell our stories every chance we get – not realizing that in our repetitions, the Universal Law is acting upon them, thereby making our stories even more real!

Receiving means trusting. Being willing to trust the Power that is greater than we are, and acting as if our desires have already been met.

So simple, yet not exactly easy! Today decide to set a part of your mind aside to act as your witness. Affirm that every time you launch into the latest rendition of your “story” something happens to gently and easily remind you that that story is no longer your Truth. Treat to open your mind, your heart and your whole being to receive more good, more God, in your life today!!

SPIRITUAL MIND TREATMENT

I recognize the Presence of Universal Power in my life right now. This Power is an emanation of Divine Life, and I am an expression of this Life. This Power works through spiritual Law and is unconditionally loving. It works for me by working through me, as me!

As I speak my word, the whole Universe is behind it. I declare I express physical, emotional and mental health. All the areas of my life reflect this Divine health. No longer are my finances, my work, my relationships, or my health affected by the stories I used to tell. Those stories no longer have any power. There is only One Power, and that Power is God. I believe and receive.

Gratefully I acknowledge my life as Divine Life made manifest. I celebrate the blessings in and of my life. I celebrate knowing that as I accept the Greater Good in my life, I do it not only for myself, but for everyone. I release this Treatment, knowing it is already so, and so it is.

Before I went to bed last night, I Treated (our word for affirmative prayer) to move into a greater sense of Inner Peace. You see, as much as I didn’t want to, I was experiencing a swarm of worries - about finances, my car, the slow growth of our new Centre, whether or not I am doing what I am supposed to be doing, etc., etc. etc.

Thank God I know Treatment works! I kept waking up every few hours, but instead of worrying, I could hear the lines of our Sunday morning opening song by Daniel Nahmod: “Oh my soul is welcome here. Oh my soul is welcome here. I am getting the message loud and clear - My soul is welcome here.”

This morning as I stopped in front my treasure map, I noticed a statement by Dr. Holmes I had placed in the center: “Everything in life responds to the song of the heart.” And I heard the rest of Daniel’s song … “I’m in the right place at the right time, I am just where I’m supposed to be …” God is such a giggle!!

What song is your heart singing? Mine had been singing poor little ole me songs for a little while. The Langley Centre was the dream of two people, and a third was invited to participate… then with death and decisions, I was left to do it myself - or rather, I choose to keep up the dream. I’ve done this before, so thought nothing of it … but it seems like it was easier twenty years ago in Hilo, Hawai’i, and besides, I was a lot younger J Part of that ole song seemed to be mighty familiar – “I have to do everything myself.” And so I feel I have been. Yet, is that the Truth?

NO! There is no way one could ever do anything all by themselves, as there is always the Powerful Presence of The Divine within us. This Presence has shown up as people to help, finances, love notes, and songs running through my mind, reminding me I am in my right place, and I am welcome here! J

In today’s 365 Science of Mind, Dr. Holmes writes: “We should sense the flow into our consciousness of the Divine Intelligence, a feeling that the creative imagination of the whole Universe is centered in us, and flowing through us. We should consciously practice this more abundant life, not necessarily for any specific thing or good we desire, but for the realization of the All-Good flowing through everything and everyone. Attuning our consciousness to this Divine abundance, automatically we find a betterment in everything we do, a broader and deeper experience, a higher realization, and a greater good.”

Here’s a song for our hearts to sing today: “Don’t worry, be happy!” Our happiness, in the midst of whatever experiences we are having, will attune us to our highest good. Thank God!!

SPIRITUAL MIND TREATMENT

I know there is One Life – God’s. I am grateful to be a conscious expression of that One Life. I allow the Uni-verse (one song) to sing Itself through me abundantly. I feel I am in the embrace of a warm, loving Presence forever seeking an outlet through me.

Through me, God sings a song of love and I experience it and share it willingly. It sings a song of peace and I feel it deep within me as it radiates from me. It sings of beauty, and joy and a deep soul sharing, and all who are near me experience it as well. God’s Life is my life, and it is a good one! It is filled with abundance, laughter, love, health, creativity and all that my soul desires.

Gratefully I release these words, knowing they are my Truth. And so it is.

Monday I got to ride in Brad McPhee’s new Jaguar. Whoo Hoo! Some of you know that a Jaguar is my dream car so it was a delightful experience. When Brad was bringing me home, as I started to give him directions, he pushed a button on a screen and showed me how the car’s G.P.S. worked. A map of our exact location came to the screen and a woman’s voice told us when we would turn and how far to drive before the turn. Then again, just before we got to each turn, she’d tell us again. It seemed to me that there would be no way one could get lost with this system.

As I marveled at it, I suddenly realized there was a tiny part of me that wished I could just be told what to do at every moment. It seemed like it would make life so much easier if I didn’t always have to be in charge of my life. I quickly got over it, however, as I imagined how dull life would be if all I could do was follow directions and didn’t get to use my mind.

Just as quickly, I also realized, as Dr. Holmes writes in the Science of Mind: “The one seeking to demonstrate the power of spiritual realization in everyday affairs should believe in Divine guidance. They should affirm that their mind is continually impressed with the images of right action, and that everything in their life is controlled by love, harmony and peace; that everything they do prospers, and that the Eternal Energy back of all things animates everything which they undertake.”

Ah ha! There is our own GPS - God Provides System J !! With mental maps, images and voice already installed. And in no way do we lose our autonomy. Just like Brad had to program the computer with my address, so we have to choose what we want to experience. The Divine will give us messages from every corner of the universe as to the highest and best methods to fulfill our choices. We have to be still, and listen, and then of course, choose to follow through.

As Dr. Holmes writes: “Let us feel that our purposes are animated and inspired from on high and then let us go forth and make our dream come true in human experience. With an invisible Intelligence to guide, and an immutable Law to direct, let us take our place in any legitimate activity, and thus cause our dreams to come to full fruition.”

SPIRITUAL MIND TREATMENT

The Center of Divine Mind is everywhere, the circumference nowhere. This Mind is infinitely intelligent and everywhere present. I am a point of God-consciousness made manifest right here and now. I am an expression of Truth in action.

I choose to be divinely guided into right action at every moment. Everything I say, do and think is motivated by Truth. I accept only the highest and best desires to be fulfilled through and as me, and there is continuous right action in my affairs at all times. My God Provides System is fully activated!! All my ideas are divine ideas. I do the right thing at the right time in ease and grace.

I am so grateful I can trust the Spirit of Truth within me. I know my word is Law and as I speak this word, all that I need to fulfill it is already here. I release this Treatment with calm confidence that it is so. And so it is.

Recently I was e-mailed this question:

“I’ve been reading about Mercury in retrograde, and Uranus and Pluto in square.... which might explain at least a part of the total chaos many of us have been experiencing. I really tend to doubt these suggestions, but it does seem like it’s a "universal" problem, like someone slipped something into the water! And if we are all responsible for our own creations...how does all this fit?

Excellent question! Let me respond by sharing a simple question asked by Dr. Tom Costa (founder of the Palm Desert, CA. C.R.S.)

“If you’re not using your mind, who is?”

Every Sunday I state that our Centre is a spiritual re-fueling station, where we have the opportunity to refresh our minds and hearts and remember the Truth of our being. It’s an opportunity to once again choose what we want in and for our lives after a week of media and other types of mesmerization, including the mesmerization of our own self-talk.

Yes, we are responsible for our own creations and if we’re not consciously choosing every second, we get to “go with the flow.” Remember that phrase?? It’s not such a good saying these days as the collective unconscious seems to be filled with fear and negativity.

Someone once said “If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything.” For instance: if the news is predicting “flu season” and we are not consciously choosing health, we will experience the flu.

I believe the responsibility of Religious Scientists and all Truth students, is to rise above the negativity the world seems to want us to believe in. Funny thing is – we are the world. So let’s go deeper. The Truth is: We walk in the atmosphere of our own believing. Our world is the way it is because we have accepted it as being that way. Our beliefs add to the collective unconscious or subjective mind. We use that one mind. We get to experience the effects of what we have accepted.

I’m not going to negate the possibility of the effects of the ancient sciences, but I do know this: It is done unto us as we believe. Choose carefully what you want to believe in. Our responsibility is to change our focus, to change what we will accept for our lives and the lives of others.

How do we begin? Think about God instead. Recreate your beliefs about our world. In Truth, we live in a positive, peaceful world, filled with health, love, prosperity and creativity. Let it be so for you, and act as if everything you do makes a difference, because it does!!

There is only One Life – that Life is Spirit, and that Life is my life. I rejoice in this Truth. Who I am is much greater than I possibly could imagine. All that Spirit is, I am. I am infinitely intelligent, unconditionally loving, everywhere present and all powerful.

Knowing this, I realize my responsibility as a Spiritual Being experiencing humanness. If there is anything in my world I want to change, it is up to me. I carry the Light into the dark corners. I do this by paying attention. I pay attention to my dominant thoughts and feelings. I pay attention to what I believe about myself and my Self. I know they are the same. It is up to me to reveal the Power and Presence within me that outpictures as my clear mind and pure heart.

I declare I am all that I am meant to be. Spirit in form, living with ease and grace. Serving my Self in all forms of life. We are all One.

With a grateful heart, I release these words into Spiritual Law, knowing they are so, and so it is.

Shift in Paradigm

Oprah Winfrey said "When you shift your paradigm to what you can do for others,
you begin to accelerate your own  evolution and trigger a bounty of  blessings.
What have you done today?"  

This month we are focusing on prosperity.  I believe a key component in living
a more prosperous life is service.  One of the greatest ways we can be of service
is to consistently work on our consciousness.  In a children’s book called
Dinotopia, there is a concept that reads “One raindrop raises the sea.”  As each
of us reveals our Divine Consciousness, we are upping the level of the
collective consciousness.  And this is a very good thing!

In surfing the internet one evening I came upon the history of ServiceMaster,
a conglomerate of cleaning companies that has been in business since 1929,
and was struck by this paragraph:

Founded as a moth-proofing company in 1929 by Marion E. Wade, a former minor league baseball player, ServiceMaster had its beginnings in Chicago where Wade worked out of his home. Wade had a strong personal faith and a desire to honor God in all he did. Translating this into the marketplace, he viewed each individual employee and customer as being made in God's image - worthy of dignity and respect. His successors, Ken Hansen and Ken Wessner, also shared this view. These three leaders shaped what became our Company objectives: To honor God in all we do; To help people develop; To pursue excellence; and To grow profitably.

“He viewed each employee and customer as being made in God’s image – worthy of dignity and respect.” WOW! What an amazing concept for a business!! This is what Religious Science teaches as well. We say all of life, and everything in it, is God. There is nothing but God. It is our right and our responsibility to honour and respect every aspect of God that shows up in our lives, whether it be in our home or our workplace. It is our pleasure to be the vehicle for The Divine to be expressed in our world.

The late Fred Rogers, of Mr. Rogers Neighborhood, said: "At the center of the Universe is a loving heart that continues to beat and that wants the best for every person. Anything we can do to help foster the intellect and spirit and emotional growth of our fellow human beings, that is our job. Those of us who have this particular vision must continue against all odds. Life is for service."

So, what will you do today?

There is One Life – God – forever manifesting as an infinite variety of forms. I am one of these forms, and I am grateful to know myself as being a unique expression of a limitless and ever present Power for good.

This Good moves though me in the form of service. Regardless of how the world tries to tell my efforts are futile, I choose to be one who makes a difference. I step forward and allow the Universe to use me in the way that is the most beneficial for all concerned. I open my mind, my heart and my arms to my fellow travelers on this Path called Life. I observe my thoughts and patterns, making course corrections along the way. I continually study Truth, allowing It to be revealed in Its wholeness through me.

I give thanks for being able to be of service to my world. My consciousness reflects the Divinity within, my soul magnifies the Law, and only good surrounds me and all in my atmosphere. We are blessed. Together we raise the level of the collective consciousness so we all know the Truth of our being. This Truth is God.

Gratefully I release these words, accepting them as true. And so it is.

For our last Friday in the month of Love, I’d like to share with you Dr. Holmes’ (the founder of Religious Science) writing for today from 365 Science of Mind:

I Open Myself to Greater Love

Love is more than a sentiment. It is a need, a hunger, a thirst that is perfectly natural. Anyone who thinks they can live and be happy without it does not know what they are talking about – psychologically, emotionally, or spiritually. Love is the beginning and end, the impulse in nature that will not be denied.

Let us think back beyond the individual to the Source of all life. I believe that the whole universe is the givingness of the Creative Spirit – to the delight of Its own Being – into the creation that is Itself in that creation. Love is the principle of Life, for it is the nature of everything to give. Only the one who loves so much that there is no longer any room for hate will ever arrive at the place where, if there may be hate, they will never know it. We are afraid of greatness because we are so tied down to littleness. We clutch the littleness anxiously and jealously, but so precariously, to our hearts. It is essential to see beyond the littleness to something bigger. None of us is as perfect in expression as we ought to be. So the challenge to each of us is to be great enough to rise in love, in charity, through understanding and compassion. Love is the lodestone of life.

I respond lovingly to all persons. Recognizing that the spiritual life is the real life, I surround myself with love, the key to joyous loving.

Dr. Holmes challenges each of us is to be great enough to rise in love. This is the supreme challenge – are you up to it?

The Master Jesus told us to love our neighbor as ourselves. Let’s love ourselves enough to honour our greatness and share that love with all, and then we will be one of those that will never know hate.

God is Love, an unconditional energy that flows throughout the universe. It surrounds me, fills me up and I know the heart of God is my home.

No longer do I refuse to let Love in. In all areas of my life, I let go of the feelings of littleness, and choose to accept my birthright of Divine Love. This is what God is, and I am Love made manifest.

Divine Love completes and fulfills me. It takes me to the deepest part of myself – Its own Self. I let myself share this love with a never ending joy, creating peace and harmony everywhere I go. Life is transformed by my willingness to accept my greatness in Love.

Gratefully I release these words to spiritual law, knowing they are already done. And so it is.

Emma Curtis Hopkins, the metaphysical “teacher of teachers” said “There is an instinctive seeking of all things for love.”

I dropped by a pet shop near my market the other day, and the owner brought out a five month old ferret named Cola. The little darling sniffed me, then jumped into my arms and curled up, looking up at me with me the sweetest look. It was like she was saying “I’m home!” I lost my heart right in that moment!

The people who know me well will have a hard time believing this – but I made the decision NOT to bring her home. She’s still in my heart, and as I think about her, I’ve also thought about decisions and how we make them. I realized that though this was about an animal, it could very well have been something about relationships.

Faced with the same “falling in love with an animal” situation in the past, I would make the decision on impulse, going for the first choice presented to me and not really thinking about the consequences. Perhaps I would rationalize it with fatalistic approach – it must be meant to happen, since I just happened to be in that store when the ferret was out of the cage. Maybe I would be compliant – listening to the pet shop owner’s stories of how cats and ferrets get along great, and how Cola seemed so taken with me, and go along with his opinions. I could have delayed making a decision, because I felt like I couldn’t at the moment, and I could have agonized over the decision, feeling overwhelmed by the rush of love I felt and unable to make up my mind, and made one just to get it over with.

How about you? What is your basic decision making strategy? Each of us has our own, yet I believe we vacillate between the ones I mentioned above. The optimal strategy is, of course, to weigh all the factors, and then go for the highest and best for all concerned. We are making decisions moment by moment that affect not only ourselves but everyone around us and more people than we can imagine.

“There is an instinctive seeking of all things for love.” All of us have made some “interesting” decisions when it comes to love, eh? Let’s be balanced decision-makers. Perhaps we could ask ourselves “What is the highest Love in this situation?” and move forward from that place.

There is One Mind – God’s Mind. It is Infinitely Intelligence and Unconditional Love. This Mind surrounds me, encompasses me, guides me and works through me at all times.

Infinite Intelligence moves through me in alignment with my thoughts and feelings. I now declare I recognize Divine Mind as a Power for Good in my world. All of my decisions are made with ease and grace. All of my decisions are balanced and are for the highest and best for all concerned. Every effect I make upon my world is a good one so I choose Love and I trust Infinite Intelligence to do It greatest work through and as me.

I am grateful to know I have the ability to tap into Divine Mind with ease. I am grateful to know I am making a difference in my world. I release these words knowing they are my Truth, and so it is.

Years ago when I had just moved to Honolulu, HI, I was having a very hard time finding employment. Driving home after a particularly disappointing interview, I noticed a sign reading "Foster Gardens." Nature has always soothed my soul, so I quickly pulled in. I walked through the greeness of the park, yet this time nature didn't seem to be helping. I couldn't get rid of my frustration.
At one point, I turned a corner around a tall hedge and discovered a very large statue of a seated Buddha. He had a serene smile, as if he knew the secret of inner peace and was enjoying himself immensley. I found myself yelling "How do I get that peace? What do I have to do?" Instantly I heard a voice say, "True peace is the Love of God." I looked around to see who had answered me, but I was alone with the statue. I sat down on a bench and argued with the Buddha. I told him I was studying for the ministry. I was doing my spiritual practices daily and loved doing them. I was doing all I knew how to love God, yet I didn't feel peaceful. Again I heard so clearly "True peace is the Love of God."

With a flash of enlightenment that I felt throughout my whole body, I realized that it was through acceptance of the Love of God that I would find Inner Peace! I didn't have to do anything for it, I just had to accept it!

I still know this is the Truth. God is Love, and God is omnipresent. Love is absolutely everywhere. There is no place I could go to get away from It. If I feel unloved, it is because I have not accepted this as my Truth. If I am feeling lack in any area of my life, it is because I am feeling separate from Love. All the love that I feel from and for the people, places, pets, etc., in my life, is Divine Love.

Love is what I am.

Following in the energy of Valentine's Day, allow yourself some quiet time and feel the Love the Universe has for you. I KNOW Divine Love Notes are in every breath, and everything we hear, taste, touch, smell and see. Hear the Inner Voice as It says to you "You are My Beloved, in whom I am well pleased."

SPIRITUAL MIND TREATMENT

There is only One Life – that Life is Spirit, and that Life is my life. There is only One Heart expressing Divine Love. This is my home. Divine Love expresses through and as me. I rejoice in this Truth. Who I am is much greater than I possibly could imagine. I am The Divine’s Beloved.

Today I accept this as my Truth. I open my heart and let Love flow through me with ease and grace. It feels so good! I shine my heart light everywhere I am, loving and nurturing all with whom I come in contact and beyond. I am Love made manifest, and everything I manifest in my life is the same. Even if it doesn’t look like it or feel like it, I now declare it is so, and I receive the blessings of Divine Love in every situation.

I am so grateful for the Love of Spirit. I bask in this Love. I see Divine Love Notes everywhere. I am nurtured and supported by this Love. It is my Truth.

With a heart full of Love, I release these words into Spiritual Law, knowing they are so, and so it is.
