Whew! What a week! If you’re participating in the Complaint-free Campaign, I’m sure that you, like me, wanted to throw away that darn purple bracelet at least once this past week! I had no idea I complain so much!!

Take this morning for instance, if I had been wearing that bracelet, I would have changed wrists 3 times before getting out of bed!! Being woken by the sounds of massive machinery started my litany. When I came to my senses, so to speak, I put a stop to my litany by singing one of my favorite chants. Thank God for music!

I’ve had quite a few discussions on what complaining is. The Truth is, we KNOW when we’re complaining -- we just want to “excuse” it. As I’ve told many of you, all you have to do is feel your feelings! If you’re feeling whiny, you’re complaining!!

The Unity Pastor, Rev. Will Bowen who started this now world-wide campaign, figures that if the average person complains 20 times a day for 30 days, the 6 million bracelets shipped to date have stopped trillions and trillions of complaints. “That’s a lot less ear pollution,” he says, grinning. Not only is it a lot less ear pollution, just imagine what we are doing to the collective consciousness of humanity!! Whoo Hoo! Our thoughts are the tools with which we impress our life story on the substance of the Universe. When we choose our thoughts, we are choosing not only for ourselves, but for untold numbers of others. Choose to live Compliant Free!

SPIRITUAL MIND TREATMENT

There is only One Mind. It is Divine Mind, and this is the Mind I am using. I could call this Mind a vibratory Field, set up by our conscious and unconscious thoughts. I realize how important my part of this creative action is.

Therefore I let go of the need to criticize, condemn or complain. These things are not the Truth of my life or any others. I now choose to set in motion thoughts that are positive and life affirming. As I walk my daily Path, I compliment my finances, my health, my creativity and my relationships. I acknowledge and am grateful for the good in my life.

I look on all things and say as God said “This is good, very good.”

Gratefully I acknowledge my place in the Divine Order of Life. I am filled with possibilities and potential. Divine Mind now assists me in attaining and maintaining the consciousness of living complaint-free!! I bless my purple bracelet for the reminders it gives me, knowing this too is God. And so It is.

Whether listening to politicians, the news, my neighbors or sometimes even my own thoughts, one thing comes across quite clearly. Most people don’t want to do the work to create the “new model.” We just want to complain about the old, point fingers and expect someone else to make it all better.

Wouldn’t it be nice if there was someone that could make it all better? Well, there is – and that someone is US!! What ever I’ve been complaining about lately, I think it’s in my face because it’s up to me to do something about it. The time of passively sitting by is past. And where do we do the work that must be done? In Mind, of course. It’s up to us to get our underused imaginations back to work and create the new models. It’s up us to set clear intentions, and give them to the Universe. It’s up to us to trust that Infinite Intelligence knows what It’s doing. And it’s up to us to stop telling the stories of the old models!

This week the Celebration of Life Centre (which lately I’ve been calling the Celebration Centre for Conscious Living) is going on a Complaint Fast. We’re going to become a part of the wave of Complaint Free living that started in Kansas City, Mo., one year ago, with Unity Pastor Will Bowen. On March 9^th I wrote a Friday Message about complaining, which brought responses leading me to Bowen’s site. I saw that Bowen had created bracelets to remind his congregation about living a complaint free life. I immediately ordered some for us. Today over 5 million bracelets have gone out to the world! This is so exciting! Isn’t it wonderful how many different ways we get to participate in the expansion of humanities consciousness?!

We live in an infinite field of creative potentiality. This field is the Source of all that ever was, and ever will be. This Source is the Divine Origins of all. It is every where present, all knowing and all powerful. We live and move and have our being in It, and It lives in us, creating through our thoughts and feelings. We are an important part of this Field.

Today I choose to remember how the whole power of the Universe is in back of every word I speak. I choose to be complaint free. Divine Wisdom flows through me, coming into action in my life, affecting all I come in contact with and unimagined others. I am now a force for good in our world. My thoughts are positive and uplifting. My feelings are filled with grace and love. I bless this world with my Presence, and the world reflects blessings back to me.

Gratefully I live a complaint free life. I am inspired by helping create a complaint free world. God is good, and all is well. And so It is.

I read a piece on the internet the other day that went something like this:

“My 6 year old niece came in from playing, saying, "I have a splinter! I have a splinter"

"Does it hurt?"

"Yes! it is awful. See?" She shows me the finger with the splinter in it.

"I can remove it for you. Do you want me to do that?"

NO! It Would HURT!"

I have been talking with so many people about how important feelings are. This story is such a good analogy for what most people do. We’re so afraid of those old feelings hurting that rather than feel them and be finished with them, we keep them buried. We think we’re doing a good job “staying positive” when in truth we are being run by the feelings we are hiding from! On a TV show one day I heard this comment “Feelings buried decompose.” That decomposition attracts illness, depression and other uncomfortable effects.

Very young children’s feelings are right out there. They express them and it’s finished. A child might strike out at a playmate for touching her toy at the playground, and the injured party cries and runs to her mother. Yet 3 minutes later the two are back playing again as if nothing ever happened.

So many of us have had emotional traumas that we buried because we were told it wasn’t appropriate to cry. We felt we weren’t allowed to complete the natural cycle of our feeling nature. Now those feelings are lying in wait, decomposed, ready to sabotage our good.

We’ve all heard that a good cry is cleansing! If you have something you’re afraid to face because it might hurt, let me tell you it probably will – but the hurt won’t be forever. Feel the hurt and cry. Crying releases the emotional steam valves we’ve been working so hard to keep closed. The only way out of the pain is to go through it. This time you’ll be going through as the person you are now, not as the person you were then. You have all the Power of the Universe behind you, honouring your every action. You are safe, and on your way to wholeness (holiness) and that’s a good thing!

There is a powerful Presence that is the Source and substance of everything in the Universe including us. This Presence is infinitely intelligent. This Presence is Divine Love and Love is the greatest healing agent there ever was, is or will be.

As I recognize this Love within me, I allow myself to consciously embody It. I breathe deeply and feel myself being filled up. I am Loved. All the painful stuck places in my heart and mind are now washed clean with this Love. I feel the tears come up and let them out. As I do this, my whole being is refreshed and renewed. I know I am loved. I know that the Divine has my highest good and greatest joy in Mind. I am blessed beyond measure.

The places within my consciousness that were filled with pain are now filled with a deep knowing that who I am is of great value to the world. I am Spirit in form. I have opened up and let my authentic Self be revealed, and this is good, very good.

Gratefully I honour my emotional body that has worked to protect me for so long. I am grateful I can let go and let God be my nurturer. I celebrate my life because it is Divine Life.

Once again the church up the road has a marquee that made me think. It reads:

“Heaven – don’t lose it for the world”

We know “heaven” is a state of consciousness. I think of heaven as that place of peace within me where I absolutely know everything is alright in my life – and even if it isn’t, there is That Within Me handling all the details. Yet, it’s so easy to get mesmerized by the world way of thinking that we feel like we’ve lost “heaven.”

In an article by the author Gregg Braden, he shares three experiments with DNA. One of them was done by the Institute of Heart Math. 28 researchers, who had been trained to generate their feelings, were given a vial of human placenta DNA (the most pristine form):

“What was discovered was that the DNA CHANGED ITS SHAPE according to the feelings of the researchers:

1. When the researchers FELT gratitude, love and appreciation, the DNA responded by RELAXING and the strands unwound. The length of the DNA became longer.

2. When the researchers FELT anger, fear, frustration, or stress, the DNA responded by TIGHTENING UP. It became shorter and SWITCHED OFF many of our DNA codes! If you've ever felt "shut down" by negative emotions, now you know why your body was equally shut down too. The shut down of the DNA codes was reversed and the codes were switched back on again when feelings of love, joy, gratitude and appreciation were felt by the researchers.”

I see the relaxed state as Heaven, and the contracted state as what happens when we allow ourselves to become fearful and stressed. Gives new meaning to the song “Don’t Worry, Be Happy”, eh? Thank God we are living in a participatory Universe!

So – don’t lose heaven for the world J

SPIRITUAL MIND TREATMENT

There is That Within me that is powerful, loving, and intelligent. It is Universal Life/Mind/Heart. I am so grateful for my awareness of this Presence.

I choose to let go of the world way of thinking and bless myself and my world with my expanded consciousness. I choose to be happy. As I make this choice, the whole Universe moves to make this my physical Reality. I see the results of my choice showing up in every area of my life. I am healthy, wealthy, loving and loved. I am doing work that fills my soul. I am a blessing to my world, and am blessed by my consciousness.

How grateful I am to know these Principles. How grateful I am that I have the courage to consciously put them to work for the good of all. I’m living in heaven and celebrating Life!

And so It is.

These lyrics have been going through my head for days:

“But I would walk 500 miles …And I would walk 500 more”

Even after looking up the rest of the words, these lines were the only ones that stuck in my head. These lines sound like commitment to me!

It made me think that this is what we wanted from our Fathers …. To know that they were so committed to us they would go the extra mile.

Some of us didn’t have the kind of relationship we wish we had. What I do know this Father’s Day weekend, is that regardless what it looked like, our Fathers were doing the best they could at the moment. Just as we do.

Everyone shows their love in different ways. We may miss that love because we want it to look and feel like what we think love is. I remember standing outside my Father’s home one night by my car. He had come out with me, and clumsily put his arms around me and told me to drive safely. Then he fumbled with his wallet and gave me some money. I remember thinking “God, you’re drunk – don’t try to buy my love!” and in my judgment totally missed the sentiment …. A sentiment I was always looking for.

In hindsight, I can see how hard it was for him that night. His love language was to give us things. I wanted hugs and tenderness. He tried, and I rejected it because he followed it with money.

I think the best gift I can give my Father this year, even though he died a few years ago, is an awareness and an owning of my part in our strained relationship. I can let go and do as the last line of the song I started with says: “Surrender – surrender – surrender.”

SPIRITUAL MIND TREATMENT

In my awareness of the One Life, I allow myself to become as a little child. I acknowledge and accept all the Love that is continually being given to me. I know this Love is Divine Love, and It is unconditional.

As I accept that I am The Beloved, I feel my heart fill with an infinite peace. This peace permeates every cell of my body, creating health. It flows out of me with my breath into my workspace and creates a sense of well-being. It flows into my finances and fulfills my every need. It flows into the hearts and minds of all whom I come in contact with, and they know they are The Beloved as well.

I am so grateful for being a grown up child of God. I allow myself to be more like God in every moment. In gratitude and great joy, I let go and surrender to the Love.

And so It is.

I love art – all types of art. I love the creative process and am always dabbling in some medium or another. I receive an e-mail letter from B. C. artist Robert Genn twice weekly. This morning’s message spoke to me so vividly. He had included his “checklist for things an artist needs to do and think about while they are painting.” As I read the list, I thought “What a delightful way to acknowledge our creativity! In Truth, we are all Universal Artists!” Here is Genn’s list with my comments in parenthesis:

Paint with your eyes (See your personal vision as a Reality)
Think what things might become (let your imagination build on the vision)
Let the brush talk (I might capitalize Brush J or even replace brush with Vision)
Be in love with change (oh yes, any new “work of art” is going to change everything!)
Find the elegance (I love this one – the idea of simple elegance is delicious)
See the big picture (Imagine how your vision will affect others as well as yourself)
Make it a pattern (hmmm … macrocosm/microcosm J )
Identify the extraordinary (How about your willingness to be a conscious co-creator?)
Don't get gauche (Keep grace alive)
Keep it fresh at all costs (Our world is always shifting – is your dream still fresh?)
Take your time (as my Mother used to say (probably yours as well) “Rome wasn’t built in a day.” Excellence takes time – be patient.)

Genn also writes: “This stuff is all about a personal search for truth within one's own vision. Getting there is half the fun. If it were a recipe, everyone's truth might be the same. Only you can make your checklist and join the search for your own truth. Start your checklist now.”

SPIRITUAL MIND TREATMENT

There is That Within Us that is the Master Artist. It is infinitely intelligent and unconditional Loving. Through It flows our ideas, dreams and visions. We are using this Mind, living in this Heart, in a great field of creative potentiality, and knowing we are consciously co-creating our world.

Today I choose to colour my world with feelings of Love, Joy, Harmony and Grace. I declare I live in simple elegance, and Divine Energy flows through me with ease. I am a Universal Artist with all my tools for creativity within me. I allow my imagination to fill in the details pertaining to my life. I see the bigger picture, and recognize that this is Divine Life, and everything in it fulfills our desires for living authentically, abundantly and happily. I am co-creating a peaceful, loving world.

And this is good, very good.

Gratefully I respect my position as Artist. Gratefully I honour Spiritual Law, knowing as I have spoken & read these words, they are already done. Life is Good! And so It is.

Tomorrow my Goddaughter, Esther, graduates from high school. We are spending the day getting ready for the event, hence the Friday Message on Thursday.

I look at this beautiful young woman, graduating Suma Cum Laude, and all I can see for a moment is the miracle of her birth. I was there, in awe of the miracle of a new soul coming into our world. My memory skips ahead and I remember playing with her as a toddler in the hose on our front lawn … noticing her at age 5 standing in front of me on Sunday mornings, her hands in the same position mine were… Esther, her Mother, and I singing on stage at our Christmas Eve service … seeing her in school events & Shakespeare plays …. so many more memories clamor for attention in my mind.

I asked Rev. Tag (my ex) what memories he had – and he said what he remembered most, was that in all his memories, she was smiling.

I can only imagine thousands of parents are going through the same thing this week .. . a sense of pride mixed with a sense of loss, as this is really a turning point for both the child and the parent. I honour those of you who are parents. What an awesome responsibility to care take a new soul. As Gibran wrote in The Prophet:

“Your children are not your children.
They are the sons and daughters of Life’s longing for itself.”

Life is certainly doing a great job through and as my Goddaughter!! If she and her friends are an example of the youth of today – WOW! Our world is in for a treat!! I am so grateful I get to be a part of her life!

With a grateful heart I celebrate the children of our world. They are, like we are, Divine expressions of The ONE.

I know they are our future. I honour them as they step more fully into their lives. I declare for them a clarity and loving-kindness that exceeds anything we could imagine. I know there is That Within Them that is guiding them to the right place and the right experiences to express their authentic selves.

Regardless of world appearances, I know for them this is a great and peaceful world. One in which resources and knowledge are shared willingly. One in which respect and appreciation for differences is paramount. I know for them only the highest and best for all.

Gratefully I release these words, knowing they are so and so It is.

Today’s Friday Message comes to you from the Big Island of Hawai’i. I am sitting outside the church, enjoying the sunshine, the soft, sweet-smelling breezes and the sounds of mynah birds and doves. Thank God for laptops!

Yesterday a dear friend took me to the hotponds … it’s a place my Hawaiian kahuna sister calls “her office” … It is definitely one of my most favorite sacred and healing spots! As I was floating in the warm salty water, looking up past the palm trees to a blue sky dotted with white puffy clouds, I began to feel a sense of timelessness. I have no agenda except to be with people I love, honour my Goddaughter for her graduation, speak on Sunday and present a workshop. I have nothing to worry about. I don’t have to DO anything except Be. I decided in that moment of floating to let go of any need to plan while I am here. Just to surrender to the Divine and be in Present Time, letting everything be for the glory of God.

WOW! When one does that - watch out! This afternoon, there’s an impromptu party with women who were in my women’s group. Next week I’m being gifted with a night at the Hilton Waikoloa (oh la la – posh!) and also get to visit friends from the East Coast who happen to be here at the same time. Who knows what else Spirit has up Its divine sleeve! What ever it is will be wonderful. I know I am here to bless and be blessed. To empower and be empowered. And to have fun!

What would happen if we let go of our busy-ness when we weren’t on holidays? Can we trust enough to let the Universe be our daily planner? Yes, I know we have to go to work, and the grocery store. We have to pay bills, feed the kids, do the laundry, take care of the house, the car, and the yard. There are a thousand things to do …. Yet what if we did each of them as if they were sacred offerings?

Thick Nhat Han, in one of his books, wrote about doing the dishes as a sacred practice. Brother Lawrence wrote about doing his daily work (hard work!) as a monk, as practicing the Presence. You might be saying “Yeah, right, that’s easy to say when you’re on holidays! You don’t know what my life is like.” But what if we could come to a deeper understanding of how to empower this life and make it more meaningful in every moment?

Here’s The Secret -- Do everything for the glory of The Divine … and guess what? That’s YOU!! In practicing the Presence, you are honouring your own Self, and that’s a very good thing! The more we align our selves with our True Nature, the easier and more meaningful life becomes. Be blessed, be empowered, be Divine!

SPIRITUAL MIND TREATMENT

Divine Mind is now assisting me in attaining and maintaining the consciousness of my authentic Self. I am Spirit in form, having a human experience. Everywhere I look, and everything I experience is The Divine. There is nothing else.

I celebrate this Truth. I let go of the fears and doubts of my life. I let go of thinking about not doing enough – I just let myself Be. As I do this, I relax. I know everything that needs to be done, will be done with ease and in grace. I will do it with the consciousness of sacred practice.

I let my life be a shining example of living Truth. I let my thoughts of living Divine Life radiate through the collective consciousness, blessing all they come in contact with. God in me, as me, is doing magnificent work.

Gratefully aware of the Power Within Me, I release these words, knowing they have made a difference. I claim Good and share it joyously. And so It is.

Yesterday, Rev. Darlene Schneider and I traveled to Bellingham Wa., to attend a Religious Science International Regional Meeting. It was delightful to spend the day with 17 of our peers – greeting once again the ones we knew and meeting some we didn’t. It was also delightful to actively participate in the greater idea of our organization.

On the way home I was thinking about the growth I have seen in R.S.I. in the 20 years I have been a minister. I thought about this in alignment with the Law of Attraction. When I first started my ministry, there was strife in our organization. We spent time thinking about it, and talking about it -- not very nicely. The strife got worse until we finally decided to practice what we preach and change our minds. Since then, we have grown and become a more conscious organization.

Look back over the past 20 years of your life. I’m sure you will find you have had some amazing growth as well. Does our growth mean we won’t ever experience strife again. No! Life is full of ups and downs. The human experience is the co-existence of opposites. It is how we react to those ups and downs that is important! We have to consciously work at it! Wallace Wattles, author of The Science of Getting Rich wrote: "To think TRUTH regardless of appearance is laborious and requires the expenditure of more power than any other work a person has to perform." What I know is true is - it CAN be done!

Something else I now clearly understand, is that it is no longer appropriate for us to settle for “less than.” If you think about it, everything you are experiencing in your life right now is because you accepted it be that way. You’ve accepted your health, your wealth, your relationships, the way you do your work in our world. You’ve either accepted it as all good, or you might have settled for less than in one area or another. When I settle for less than, I loose my zest for life, my momentum, along this Sacred Path. How about you?

I’d like you to know that Life is conspiring to awaken us in every moment. Be a part of the conspiracy. Conscious people settle only for the best. Our best shines through our every action. Let your reactions to the experiences in your life be real, and let your actions be for the highest good and greatest joy for all.

Just think what our lives will be like 20 years from now!

I celebrate the One. One great Heart in which we all reside. One great Mind which we all use. One great Life we all live.

Today I choose to honour that great One by living my life magnificently. I no longer settle for anything that is not for my highest and best good. I open my mind, my heart and my arms to receive all the Universe is conspiring to give me. I am ready to be Spirit in action with grace and ease. As I survey my world, I see that who I am is of service to others.

This Life is God’s life and it is a great one! I love how it feels to have wonderful relationships, vibrant health and experience more than enough good in my life. I am so grateful to know these Principles, and to be willing to put them to use for the good of all.

Gratefully I release these words, knowing they are so, and so It is.

Religious Science is a spiritual path that must be intimately experienced as well as intellectually comprehended. It’s not only the Science of Mind, but a religion of the Heart. “Religion” means to bind back … and the heart I am speaking of is the Divine Heart. To find myself bound back into the Divine Heart is a delicious thought! Can you imagine moving through your life absolutely KNOWING without a shadow of doubt that you are loved? Can you imagine your every action being based in Love? In Love there is no fear. This is what I believe binding myself to the Divine Heart would be like.

How does one do this? It has to be a conscious desire and then we have to allow it to happen. If I state “It is my desire to have an experience of living in the Divine Heart” I believe I will attract experiences showing me I am the Beloved. It will also provide me with opportunities to be the Lover!

I believe these experiences are actually happening on a moment to moment basis. It makes me wonder how many of these opportunities we’ve missed because we are so “busy?” Busyness is a mental activity that becomes physical. Sometimes my busyness is so I don’t have to experience my emotions. (I know you know what I’m saying!) My busyness to keep myself from feeling any of the human emotions we’ve termed negative, prevents all feelings from coming through! As we allow ourselves to slow down and be in Present Time, we shall feel what there is to feel, move through it and make even more room for Divine Love to flood our being.

Dr. Holmes wrote: “One of the great difficulties in the new order of thought is that we are likely to indulge in too much theory and too little practice.” We can study the Science of Mind until the end of our days, yet, unless we embody it (feel it) we won’t experience all there is that is delightful.

The “painter of Light,” Thomas Kinkade eloquently said, "When we learn to say a deep, passionate yes to the things that really matter, then peace begins to settle onto our lives like golden sunlight sifting to a forest floor." Yes, knowledge matters, but it is nothing without the experience. Living it Really Matters!

There is only One Life, that Life is God’s Life, and that Life is my Life now. It is expressing through me at every moment through Love and Law.

I now consciously choose to experience living authentically in the Divine Heart. As the Beloved I choose my thoughts and words with integrity and grace. I am joy filled as I move along my Spiritual Path. Whatever I might be doing – from going to church to washing the dishes or brushing my teeth - I let my mind be at peace, filled with the Love and Light of The Divine. I live in present time. I am filled with Love and It spills out into my world. I choose to be the Lover in all my experiences, bringing a deep peace wherever I go, to whomever I come in contact with.

I am so grateful for the teachings of the Science Of Mind. I am so grateful to know that God is Love, and therefore that is what I am. I celebrate living Divine Life, and It is good, very good. I release these words, knowing they are already so. And so It is.

I’ve been hearing a song from Camelot in my head this week … unfortunately I could only remember the first line – so I looked it up …

“Tra la! It's May! The lusty month of May!”
That lovely month when ev'ryone goes
Blissfully astray.
Tra la! It's here!
That shocking time of year
When tons of wicked little thoughts
Merrily appear.
It's May! It's May! …. “

I like that word “lusty” J According to my computer’s dictionary, it means 1. Strong and healthy; 2. energetic; and of course, 3.lustful.

The month of May is when we see the visible effects of Mother Nature’s awakening. Outside my office there is a purple lilac tree, two flowering magnolias, (one white and one purple). Across the brook I can see red tulips and yellow daffodils. I can hear the birds twittering, and a dog off in the distance. There is something so playful about the riotous colours and the delightful sounds. For me May is The Universe’s invitation to come out of the cocoon of winter and PLAY!!

We adults get so involved in our to-do lists, our daily chores, and the projects waiting for completion, I think we either forget to play, or feel too guilty to do it. Remember that nursery phrase that said “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy”? Maybe we should write at the top of our to-do lists in huge letters: PLAY !!

SPIRITUAL MIND TREATMENT

The Creative Spirit of Life is absolutely everywhere. I now consciously recognize It within me. As I acknowledge this Spirit I embody Joy.

I know there are things for me to do as part of my daily plan … yet today I allow myself to have moments of Divine Play. As I do this, I let go of the guilt for not doing the “things” and they become less heavy in my mind. There is That Within Me that will guide me into getting them done and I will do so with a lighter heart since I have given myself permission to play. Divine Strength is within me, Divine Energy fills me up. I feel the lustiness of May!

I celebrate my Life with joy and gratitude. I celebrate the “things to do ” and I celebrate my ability to let my Inner Child – the Divine Child – out to express Itself in wondrous ways. I experience the awe of Life and all It’s glories.

Life is good and I am so grateful to be aware of this. Gratefully I release my word, knowing it is already so. And so It is.

This morning I woke up with swollen hands and stomach. I knew I shouldn’t have eaten that pasta last night! You see, I believe I have a wheat allergy. As I was sharing my problem with friends, I remembered an experience with Rev. Helen Street:

We used to go to Ryan’s in Honolulu for dessert after class each week and one night a classmate was telling us all the horrible things she had discovered about sugar. One by one we chimed in, adding our sugar stories. Rev. Helen sat quietly the whole time and when we were finished, reached out and moved the sugar bowl in front of her, wrapping her hands around it. Patting it softly, she whispered “It’s ok, sugar, we still love you. We know who you are.” There was silence for a moment as we contemplated what she had said, and then a rousing discussion followed about It’s all God.

What would our lives be like if we really believed this was the Truth?

So many yummy things are made with wheat that sometimes I choose to ignore my belief in having a wheat allergy and eat them anyway. However, since that belief is so ingrained that it became a Law of my Being, I get to experience the effects of it. I have named wheat bad and therefore it must be that for me.

How do I get past this belief? Walter Starke, author of “It’s All God” and many other great books said in an interview in the Science of Mind Magazine: “Seek ye first the kingdom of God” means to seek first the subjective aspect (or reality) of life, and then the objective (appearance).

That’s what Rev. Helen did – she went to the Truth – the subjective side of the sugar. So, I could remember wheat is an expression of God; the chemicals I’ve believed wheat is grown with that are affecting me, are also an expression of God. I am an expression of God. It’s all God!! It’s all good. Since everything is God, how could It harm Itself?

I’m going to love wheat as an expression of God this week and see how it affects my body. It can only do good. I believe this is true healing. Knowing the Truth in the subjective will naturally affect the objective!

Perhaps there’s a place in your life where you’d like to remember IT’S ALL GOD.

I celebrate my conscious awareness of the eternal Presence of The Divine. It is not only present everywhere and in every thing, It is the Source of all that is. It is the Source and the expression of my life. Indeed, there is only One Life, and that is Divine Life. How grateful I am to know this.

Today I choose to examine the Laws I have set up to live my life by. I release those that no longer serve me. I replace them with more positive, Self-affirming ones. I know everything is God/Good.

As I do this, the whole Universe rushes in to serve me. I celebrate perfect health in every area of my life. I see and experience the subjective Reality of The Divine made manifest in the objective world. I claim all this is good, very good.

Gratefully I release my word, knowing it is already so. And so It is.

Like you, I was shocked and horrified when I heard about the incident last Monday at Virginia Tech. Dr. Rev. Kathianne Lewis of the Seattle Centre for Spiritual Living, in an e-mail to her congregation, wrote how I was feeling so clearly:

I believe the anger and sadness I feel when confronted with human beings seeming inhumanity is my huge disappointment in us as a species. I grieve because I know we are capable of such love and greatness. If we are all on the same team, our team just fumbled the ball.

I felt my feelings until they turned into compassion. Then I started looking at it from another point of view. Remember last week I told you we are always receiving Instant Spiritual Messages? I believe this is true on the macrocosmic scale as well as the microcosmic. What came to me is that this experience happened on 4/16 = in numerology that is an 11. Eleven is the first of the Mastery numbers, and foretells a message, that there is an opening. Thirty-three people died. 33 is the greatest mastery number and is significant because of its nature to alter lives. It is indicative of Christ Consciousness – living in love.

For me then, once I allowed myself to open to it, I saw the Universe saying “Here’s the larger message of Virginia Tech: Here is an opening to live at a higher level. To be compassionate and forgiving. To live in Love.”

I am going to say the same thing I said after 9/11 – to retaliate with thoughts of the perpetrator being evil or to blame it on movies or other influences is not Soul Level thinking. This was an extreme cry for love – a cry that had been ignored until it erupted.

Dr. Kathianne goes on to write:

My wonderful Hindu friend, Bo Lozoff said, "Grief is only love with a bad
reputation."

Here's where the turning point is for me - I have to realize the anger,
sadness, and grief are the shadow side of the great Love I have for all
human beings. As I acknowledge that I can embrace my feelings, I trust Love will soon evidence itself. My Prayer becomes, "God open my heart wide
open so the Power of Love can flow through me."

I share these thoughts with you because we aren't a church that tries to tell anyone what to think or how to act or who we can pin blame upon. (Ernest Holmes said, "We don't tell people what to think but how to think.") I hope by sharing my personal process that you may find a way and means to touch the deep reservoir of love and understanding within yourself and that you let love flow out from you to your family, friends and the people so tragically effected by this incident.

To have your heart broken open for love is a Glorious thing

Our job then is to KNOW THE TRUTH for all who have experienced something from this incident. And it wasn’t just those 33 people who died, or the ones that were injured, or their family and friends. It affected all of us.

The healing is our responsibility. There is a major outpouring of pain that wants to be transformed to the Christ Consciousness level. It is outpicturing everywhere. Where is our pain? Pain buried decomposes. Decomposition of garbage causes gases and fires, and as we’ve just seen, explosions. It’s Spring – It’s time to clean house!

Know there is That Within You that loves you so much It became your life. It is walking this Path as you. It is within the practitioners, ministers, counselors and friends that are here to walk with you into clarity. Let’s do it for all our sakes.

Infinite Intelligence is always working, everywhere present, and unconditionally loving. I know this is True regardless of appearances. I know It is within me and around me, moving me along my Path.

Today I choose to clean out my mental closets. I no longer have room for resentment or a sense of victimization. I choose to pay more attention to all that is going on around me. I choose to live in Love. I declare everything is in Divine Right Order, not only in my life, but in our world.

My mind is the Christ Mind. I am learning what this means moment by moment. I surrender my limited sense of Life to the Divine Realization of wholeness and unity. There is only The One and we are all That.

Gratefully I release my word, knowing it is already so. And so It is.

While driving today, Angelaya and I were sharing license plate stories and I share some with you:

A friend told me a story of feeling really depressed and not wanting to go do errands, but knew she had to. There was a story going on in her mind she couldn’t let go of - it just kept repeating and repeating. She banged her fist on the steering wheel and yelled “How can I stop this?” and pulled up behind a car with the license plate “LAUGH.”

Angelaya told me of a time when she & Leonard weren’t happy living where they were living. She asked Leonard “I wonder when we’re going to be able to move?” Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed a license plate that read ANYDAYNOW.

Years ago I was treating for new car. I saw a white convertible Mercedes with red leather interior in a car show and fell in love. I had my camera with me, took a picture and when I got the picture developed, I erased the license plate and wrote “Yea God.” I put the picture on my treasure map. About 6 months later it seemed nothing was manifesting at all in my life, and as I was walking downtown Honolulu on an errand, I was beginning to think I was kidding myself about being able to demonstrate. Just as I was really getting into complaining mode, a white convertible Mercedes with red leather interior drove by – and yes, you’ve got it – the license plate read “Yea God!” I DID manifest that car – even though it wasn’t mine J

I’m sure you have a few of these stories yourself. Have you ever considered they might be what I call ISM’s (Instant Spirit Messages)? I believe we’re getting them all the time – we haven’t noticed. Perhaps your ISM’s come to you as a sentence in a magazine, newspaper or book; or through a snippet of conversation as you pass someone or on the radio or TV. Maybe on a billboard, or a scrap of paper that lands at your feet while walking. Infinite Intelligence will get our attention any way It can!! Be open to receive! Just one more reason to stay conscious.

SPIRITUAL MIND TREATMENT

There is only One Mind – Divine Mind. It is infinitely intelligent. It is the Source of all thought and is thinking in, through, and as me all the time. As It does It responds to me with Love.

I now choose to be open to seeing and experiencing the Universe’s ISM’s. I do not need to spend time in fear or worry. I choose to trust that all the answers are at hand, instantly. Spirit is for me not against me, and is unconditionally loving me at every moment. I trust that I will know what I need to know at every moment.

I gratefully celebrate my awareness of Spirit’s constant communication with me. I delight in receiving Instant Spirit Message’s!

And so It is.

Today is Good Friday … I’ve always wondered why the day Jesus was crucified was called “good”. In my research I found that some say it used to be called “God Friday” and became Good Friday just like “God be with you” became “Good bye.”

For me, the method of Jesus’ death made his teaching more powerful. Would we have gotten the message that “God is Love and this is who you are”, if he had lived to a ripe old age or would he have faded away like so many other great teachers – even some in our own tradition?

What would our world be like without Christianity? Some might say it would be more peaceful – some say more chaotic. And is the Jesus story even true? Is it a particular person’s story – or a conglomeration of many stories? So many questions. Jean Houston wrote: “A myth is something that might have never been but that is always happening. It is the DNA code of the human psyche. It is available for one generation, and again, in a different twist, for another. It has multiple, myriad facets. It drops into a culture like a crystal seed in a supersaturated solution, and then it blooms and blossoms."

The Jesus story is our story. Each of us must come to our own understanding of it. As we review why Easter is celebrated, we must ask ourselves how it affects our lives and decide how we want it to.

For me, I will honour the man’s life and death. I can take comfort in his strength of faith, his absolute knowingness that he and the Father were One. I value his teaching and appreciate these words “All these things I do, you can do, and even greater.”

It seems that "Good Friday" is like so many of the great spiritual truths. It is a paradox. Like "You shall find yourself by losing yourself." Or "Less is more." These paradoxes are difficult to totally understand, yet sometimes they take hold of us. And when they do, nothing is the same ever again.

There is That Within me that is my Christ nature. It is Unconditional Love. It is an absolute knowingness. It is of great value to me and my world.

I choose to honour this today and everyday by the way I live my life. I am Love made manifest and Love is the greatest healing agent in the universe. I am the Beloved in whom God is well pleased and I let this Love flow forth from me nurturing and blessing all I come in contact with.

As Love flows from within me, it aligns everything in my life - my health, my wealth, my relationships and my use of my talents – with that Divine Christ Pattern.

For this I am eternally grateful. I celebrate my conscious awareness of the Christ. And so It is.

Today I plagiarize a billboard I saw on a church marquee in Brookswood, B.C.:

The best vitamin for a Religious Scientist is B 1.

Dr. Holmes wrote on page 51 of the Science of Mind:

“One of the great difficulties in the new order of thought is that we are likely to indulge in too much theory and too little practice.”

This statement was written sometime in the early ‘20’s yet how true it still is !!!

With the success of the film “The Secret,” the collective Western consciousness is realizing the possibilities of the Law of Attraction. We in Religious Science have the benefit of studying the Law. We know this Law is always working for us, always has, and always will – but are we living it? Now is the time to go beyond theory and use it consciously!

Dr. Holmes goes on to write “As a matter of fact, we only know as much as we can prove by actual demonstration.”

Are you still struggling in any area of your life? That’s the area where you’re playing in the realm of theory. You might understand this teaching, but you haven’t subjectified it. Taking it to the subjective level means not only believing it intellectually, but feeling that knowingness at a deep cellular level, where it is so much a part of you, you don’t have to think about it.

In Hawai’i, we’d say “Hele Ka ‘Olelo” or Walk the Talk. What a great privilege we have, to be able to be the shining examples of conscious use of the Law. So – If you call yourself a Religious Scientist - BE ONE!

SPIRITUAL MIND TREATMENT

The Infinite Mind of God is the perfect place to reside. In this Mind is Love and Law. Love points the way, and Law makes the way possible. As I contemplate this Mind, I remember this is the Mind I am using. Within me is both Love and Law.

Today I choose to be more consciously aware of my use of the Law. I choose to let my intentions be loving and graceful. As I do this, I know I am an example for awakening humanity to its spiritual magnificence.

I walk my talk with ease.

I am so grateful for these teachings and my willingness to always take them deeper. What I am learning is how to be Real in every moment. I am filled with the joy and love of The Divine as I walk my Path. This is good, very good, and so It is.

This morning I woke up really tired of the rain. It’s been raining for 20 days - enough already!! I felt as grey as it looked outside my window. However, life must go on, and I got in the car for a drive to Vancouver to pick up some books for class. Not something I was looking forward to doing. Pouring rain all through Langley, beating down on the car roof in bumper to bumper traffic over the Port Mann Bridge, all the way down Highway 1 into the city. Yucko! Even the music on CBC was dirge-like.

As I got closer to town I started to notice cherry trees in full bloom. Instantly my spirits lifted. Regardless of the weather, those trees were doing what they do naturally – bloom gorgeously!

I remembered this is the way of the Universe as well. No matter what I’m doing, the Universe goes on creating beauty and peace everywhere. That is Its’ nature. That IS nature – and what a good teacher she is!

I heard myself saying “I love Spring,” and a quote came to me from Eileen Cady, the co-founder of Findhorn:

“It is love that changes the world, love that raises the vibrations, love that heals and makes whole. Love is the greatest power in the universe and that love is yours when your longing for it is deep enough. Let all you do be built on foundations of love, for love is so strong and sure that it can withstand anything. Love is not something to be talked about, it is something to be lived and demonstrated. It is very real and alive and it cannot be hidden. If love is there it will be felt. Start now to open your hearts and love, love, love. There is no better time than the ever-present, glorious NOW.”

My errand was at a book distributors – a mental candy shop for me. How I enjoyed walking the stacks and looking at all the new titles. I love to read! Funny thing – the drive back to Langley, even with the traffic, was much different than the drive there. Had it stopped raining? No, but now the rain was beating on the roof in a musical pattern, everyone seemed to be so much more courteous, and CBC had more uplifting music. I changed my perceptions – I started loving instead of resenting - and the world changed around me. Ahhhh, Spring. Thank You Divine Love!

As I contemplate the Great Oneness of the Universe, I return to my Self. I know who I am = Spirit in form. I am so happy to remember and appreciate the Power Within.

I choose today to have Spring in my conscious mind. No longer can anything outside of me affect me. I choose to enjoy the mysteries of growth, and the awareness of beauty. I am radiant, energetic, healthy in mind, body and emotions. All that there is, all that I am, is Love made manifest. How grateful I am to come back to my Self!

I accept responsibility for co-creating a Divine Life. I bless all challenges I have created for they have brought me back to Center. God is my Life, and my good. My Life is wonderful. Gratefully I release these words to Law and so It is.
