Yesterday, Rev. Darlene Schneider and I traveled to Bellingham Wa., to attend a Religious Science International Regional Meeting. It was delightful to spend the day with 17 of our peers – greeting once again the ones we knew and meeting some we didn’t. It was also delightful to actively participate in the greater idea of our organization.

On the way home I was thinking about the growth I have seen in R.S.I. in the 20 years I have been a minister. I thought about this in alignment with the Law of Attraction. When I first started my ministry, there was strife in our organization. We spent time thinking about it, and talking about it -- not very nicely. The strife got worse until we finally decided to practice what we preach and change our minds. Since then, we have grown and become a more conscious organization.

Look back over the past 20 years of your life. I’m sure you will find you have had some amazing growth as well. Does our growth mean we won’t ever experience strife again. No! Life is full of ups and downs. The human experience is the co-existence of opposites. It is how we react to those ups and downs that is important! We have to consciously work at it! Wallace Wattles, author of The Science of Getting Rich wrote: "To think TRUTH regardless of appearance is laborious and requires the expenditure of more power than any other work a person has to perform." What I know is true is - it CAN be done!

Something else I now clearly understand, is that it is no longer appropriate for us to settle for “less than.” If you think about it, everything you are experiencing in your life right now is because you accepted it be that way. You’ve accepted your health, your wealth, your relationships, the way you do your work in our world. You’ve either accepted it as all good, or you might have settled for less than in one area or another. When I settle for less than, I loose my zest for life, my momentum, along this Sacred Path. How about you?

I’d like you to know that Life is conspiring to awaken us in every moment. Be a part of the conspiracy. Conscious people settle only for the best. Our best shines through our every action. Let your reactions to the experiences in your life be real, and let your actions be for the highest good and greatest joy for all.

Just think what our lives will be like 20 years from now!

SPIRITUAL MIND TREATMENT

I celebrate the One. One great Heart in which we all reside. One great Mind which we all use. One great Life we all live.

Today I choose to honour that great One by living my life magnificently. I no longer settle for anything that is not for my highest and best good. I open my mind, my heart and my arms to receive all the Universe is conspiring to give me. I am ready to be Spirit in action with grace and ease. As I survey my world, I see that who I am is of service to others.

This Life is God’s life and it is a great one! I love how it feels to have wonderful relationships, vibrant health and experience more than enough good in my life. I am so grateful to know these Principles, and to be willing to put them to use for the good of all.

Gratefully I release these words, knowing they are so, and so It is.

Religious Science is a spiritual path that must be intimately experienced as well as intellectually comprehended. It’s not only the Science of Mind, but a religion of the Heart. “Religion” means to bind back … and the heart I am speaking of is the Divine Heart. To find myself bound back into the Divine Heart is a delicious thought! Can you imagine moving through your life absolutely KNOWING without a shadow of doubt that you are loved? Can you imagine your every action being based in Love? In Love there is no fear. This is what I believe binding myself to the Divine Heart would be like.

How does one do this? It has to be a conscious desire and then we have to allow it to happen. If I state “It is my desire to have an experience of living in the Divine Heart” I believe I will attract experiences showing me I am the Beloved. It will also provide me with opportunities to be the Lover!

I believe these experiences are actually happening on a moment to moment basis. It makes me wonder how many of these opportunities we’ve missed because we are so “busy?” Busyness is a mental activity that becomes physical. Sometimes my busyness is so I don’t have to experience my emotions. (I know you know what I’m saying!) My busyness to keep myself from feeling any of the human emotions we’ve termed negative, prevents all feelings from coming through! As we allow ourselves to slow down and be in Present Time, we shall feel what there is to feel, move through it and make even more room for Divine Love to flood our being.

Dr. Holmes wrote: “One of the great difficulties in the new order of thought is that we are likely to indulge in too much theory and too little practice.” We can study the Science of Mind until the end of our days, yet, unless we embody it (feel it) we won’t experience all there is that is delightful.

The “painter of Light,” Thomas Kinkade eloquently said, "When we learn to say a deep, passionate yes to the things that really matter, then peace begins to settle onto our lives like golden sunlight sifting to a forest floor." Yes, knowledge matters, but it is nothing without the experience. Living it Really Matters!

There is only One Life, that Life is God’s Life, and that Life is my Life now. It is expressing through me at every moment through Love and Law.

I now consciously choose to experience living authentically in the Divine Heart. As the Beloved I choose my thoughts and words with integrity and grace. I am joy filled as I move along my Spiritual Path. Whatever I might be doing – from going to church to washing the dishes or brushing my teeth - I let my mind be at peace, filled with the Love and Light of The Divine. I live in present time. I am filled with Love and It spills out into my world. I choose to be the Lover in all my experiences, bringing a deep peace wherever I go, to whomever I come in contact with.

I am so grateful for the teachings of the Science Of Mind. I am so grateful to know that God is Love, and therefore that is what I am. I celebrate living Divine Life, and It is good, very good. I release these words, knowing they are already so. And so It is.

I’ve been hearing a song from Camelot in my head this week … unfortunately I could only remember the first line – so I looked it up …

“Tra la! It's May! The lusty month of May!”
That lovely month when ev'ryone goes
Blissfully astray.

That shocking time of year
When tons of wicked little thoughts
Merrily appear.
It's May! It's May! …. “

I like that word “lusty” J According to my computer’s dictionary, it means 1. Strong and healthy; 2. energetic; and of course, 3.lustful.

The month of May is when we see the visible effects of Mother Nature’s awakening. Outside my office there is a purple lilac tree, two flowering magnolias, (one white and one purple). Across the brook I can see red tulips and yellow daffodils. I can hear the birds twittering, and a dog off in the distance. There is something so playful about the riotous colours and the delightful sounds. For me May is The Universe’s invitation to come out of the cocoon of winter and PLAY!!

We adults get so involved in our to-do lists, our daily chores, and the projects waiting for completion, I think we either forget to play, or feel too guilty to do it. Remember that nursery phrase that said “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy”? Maybe we should write at the top of our to-do lists in huge letters: PLAY !!

In the song, Guenevere sings:

SPIRITUAL MIND TREATMENT

The Creative Spirit of Life is absolutely everywhere. I now consciously recognize It within me. As I acknowledge this Spirit I embody Joy.

I know there are things for me to do as part of my daily plan … yet today I allow myself to have moments of Divine Play. As I do this, I let go of the guilt for not doing the “things” and they become less heavy in my mind. There is That Within Me that will guide me into getting them done and I will do so with a lighter heart since I have given myself permission to play. Divine Strength is within me, Divine Energy fills me up. I feel the lustiness of May!

I celebrate my Life with joy and gratitude. I celebrate the “things to do ” and I celebrate my ability to let my Inner Child – the Divine Child – out to express Itself in wondrous ways. I experience the awe of Life and all It’s glories.

Life is good and I am so grateful to be aware of this. Gratefully I release my word, knowing it is already so. And so It is.

This morning I woke up with swollen hands and stomach. I knew I shouldn’t have eaten that pasta last night! You see, I believe I have a wheat allergy. As I was sharing my problem with friends, I remembered an experience with Rev. Helen Street:

We used to go to Ryan’s in Honolulu for dessert after class each week and one night a classmate was telling us all the horrible things she had discovered about sugar. One by one we chimed in, adding our sugar stories. Rev. Helen sat quietly the whole time and when we were finished, reached out and moved the sugar bowl in front of her, wrapping her hands around it. Patting it softly, she whispered “It’s ok, sugar, we still love you. We know who you are.” There was silence for a moment as we contemplated what she had said, and then a rousing discussion followed about It’s all God.

What would our lives be like if we really believed this was the Truth?

So many yummy things are made with wheat that sometimes I choose to ignore my belief in having a wheat allergy and eat them anyway. However, since that belief is so ingrained that it became a Law of my Being, I get to experience the effects of it. I have named wheat bad and therefore it must be that for me.

How do I get past this belief? Walter Starke, author of “It’s All God” and many other great books said in an interview in the Science of Mind Magazine: “Seek ye first the kingdom of God” means to seek first the subjective aspect (or reality) of life, and then the objective (appearance).

That’s what Rev. Helen did – she went to the Truth – the subjective side of the sugar. So, I could remember wheat is an expression of God; the chemicals I’ve believed wheat is grown with that are affecting me, are also an expression of God. I am an expression of God. It’s all God!! It’s all good. Since everything is God, how could It harm Itself?

I’m going to love wheat as an expression of God this week and see how it affects my body. It can only do good. I believe this is true healing. Knowing the Truth in the subjective will naturally affect the objective!

Perhaps there’s a place in your life where you’d like to remember IT’S ALL GOD.

I celebrate my conscious awareness of the eternal Presence of The Divine. It is not only present everywhere and in every thing, It is the Source of all that is. It is the Source and the expression of my life. Indeed, there is only One Life, and that is Divine Life. How grateful I am to know this.

Today I choose to examine the Laws I have set up to live my life by. I release those that no longer serve me. I replace them with more positive, Self-affirming ones. I know everything is God/Good.

As I do this, the whole Universe rushes in to serve me. I celebrate perfect health in every area of my life. I see and experience the subjective Reality of The Divine made manifest in the objective world. I claim all this is good, very good.

Gratefully I release my word, knowing it is already so. And so It is.

Like you, I was shocked and horrified when I heard about the incident last Monday at Virginia Tech. Dr. Rev. Kathianne Lewis of the Seattle Centre for Spiritual Living, in an e-mail to her congregation, wrote how I was feeling so clearly:

I believe the anger and sadness I feel when confronted with human beings seeming inhumanity is my huge disappointment in us as a species. I grieve because I know we are capable of such love and greatness. If we are all on the same team, our team just fumbled the ball.

I felt my feelings until they turned into compassion. Then I started looking at it from another point of view. Remember last week I told you we are always receiving Instant Spiritual Messages? I believe this is true on the macrocosmic scale as well as the microcosmic. What came to me is that this experience happened on 4/16 = in numerology that is an 11. Eleven is the first of the Mastery numbers, and foretells a message, that there is an opening. Thirty-three people died. 33 is the greatest mastery number and is significant because of its nature to alter lives. It is indicative of Christ Consciousness – living in love.

For me then, once I allowed myself to open to it, I saw the Universe saying “Here’s the larger message of Virginia Tech: Here is an opening to live at a higher level. To be compassionate and forgiving. To live in Love.”

I am going to say the same thing I said after 9/11 – to retaliate with thoughts of the perpetrator being evil or to blame it on movies or other influences is not Soul Level thinking. This was an extreme cry for love – a cry that had been ignored until it erupted.

Dr. Kathianne goes on to write:

My wonderful Hindu friend, Bo Lozoff said, "Grief is only love with a bad
reputation."

Here's where the turning point is for me - I have to realize the anger,
sadness, and grief are the shadow side of the great Love I have for all
human beings. As I acknowledge that I can embrace my feelings, I trust Love will soon evidence itself. My Prayer becomes, "God open my heart wide
open so the Power of Love can flow through me."

I share these thoughts with you because we aren't a church that tries to tell anyone what to think or how to act or who we can pin blame upon. (Ernest Holmes said, "We don't tell people what to think but how to think.") I hope by sharing my personal process that you may find a way and means to touch the deep reservoir of love and understanding within yourself and that you let love flow out from you to your family, friends and the people so tragically effected by this incident.

To have your heart broken open for love is a Glorious thing

Our job then is to KNOW THE TRUTH for all who have experienced something from this incident. And it wasn’t just those 33 people who died, or the ones that were injured, or their family and friends. It affected all of us.

The healing is our responsibility. There is a major outpouring of pain that wants to be transformed to the Christ Consciousness level. It is outpicturing everywhere. Where is our pain? Pain buried decomposes. Decomposition of garbage causes gases and fires, and as we’ve just seen, explosions. It’s Spring – It’s time to clean house!

Know there is That Within You that loves you so much It became your life. It is walking this Path as you. It is within the practitioners, ministers, counselors and friends that are here to walk with you into clarity. Let’s do it for all our sakes.

Infinite Intelligence is always working, everywhere present, and unconditionally loving. I know this is True regardless of appearances. I know It is within me and around me, moving me along my Path.

Today I choose to clean out my mental closets. I no longer have room for resentment or a sense of victimization. I choose to pay more attention to all that is going on around me. I choose to live in Love. I declare everything is in Divine Right Order, not only in my life, but in our world.

My mind is the Christ Mind. I am learning what this means moment by moment. I surrender my limited sense of Life to the Divine Realization of wholeness and unity. There is only The One and we are all That.

Gratefully I release my word, knowing it is already so. And so It is.

While driving today, Angelaya and I were sharing license plate stories and I share some with you:

A friend told me a story of feeling really depressed and not wanting to go do errands, but knew she had to. There was a story going on in her mind she couldn’t let go of - it just kept repeating and repeating. She banged her fist on the steering wheel and yelled “How can I stop this?” and pulled up behind a car with the license plate “LAUGH.”

Angelaya told me of a time when she & Leonard weren’t happy living where they were living. She asked Leonard “I wonder when we’re going to be able to move?” Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed a license plate that read ANYDAYNOW.

Years ago I was treating for new car. I saw a white convertible Mercedes with red leather interior in a car show and fell in love. I had my camera with me, took a picture and when I got the picture developed, I erased the license plate and wrote “Yea God.” I put the picture on my treasure map. About 6 months later it seemed nothing was manifesting at all in my life, and as I was walking downtown Honolulu on an errand, I was beginning to think I was kidding myself about being able to demonstrate. Just as I was really getting into complaining mode, a white convertible Mercedes with red leather interior drove by – and yes, you’ve got it – the license plate read “Yea God!” I DID manifest that car – even though it wasn’t mine J

I’m sure you have a few of these stories yourself. Have you ever considered they might be what I call ISM’s (Instant Spirit Messages)? I believe we’re getting them all the time – we haven’t noticed. Perhaps your ISM’s come to you as a sentence in a magazine, newspaper or book; or through a snippet of conversation as you pass someone or on the radio or TV. Maybe on a billboard, or a scrap of paper that lands at your feet while walking. Infinite Intelligence will get our attention any way It can!! Be open to receive! Just one more reason to stay conscious.

SPIRITUAL MIND TREATMENT

There is only One Mind – Divine Mind. It is infinitely intelligent. It is the Source of all thought and is thinking in, through, and as me all the time. As It does It responds to me with Love.

I now choose to be open to seeing and experiencing the Universe’s ISM’s. I do not need to spend time in fear or worry. I choose to trust that all the answers are at hand, instantly. Spirit is for me not against me, and is unconditionally loving me at every moment. I trust that I will know what I need to know at every moment.

I gratefully celebrate my awareness of Spirit’s constant communication with me. I delight in receiving Instant Spirit Message’s!

And so It is.

Today is Good Friday … I’ve always wondered why the day Jesus was crucified was called “good”. In my research I found that some say it used to be called “God Friday” and became Good Friday just like “God be with you” became “Good bye.”

For me, the method of Jesus’ death made his teaching more powerful. Would we have gotten the message that “God is Love and this is who you are”, if he had lived to a ripe old age or would he have faded away like so many other great teachers – even some in our own tradition?

What would our world be like without Christianity? Some might say it would be more peaceful – some say more chaotic. And is the Jesus story even true? Is it a particular person’s story – or a conglomeration of many stories? So many questions. Jean Houston wrote: “A myth is something that might have never been but that is always happening. It is the DNA code of the human psyche. It is available for one generation, and again, in a different twist, for another. It has multiple, myriad facets. It drops into a culture like a crystal seed in a supersaturated solution, and then it blooms and blossoms."

The Jesus story is our story. Each of us must come to our own understanding of it. As we review why Easter is celebrated, we must ask ourselves how it affects our lives and decide how we want it to.

For me, I will honour the man’s life and death. I can take comfort in his strength of faith, his absolute knowingness that he and the Father were One. I value his teaching and appreciate these words “All these things I do, you can do, and even greater.”

It seems that "Good Friday" is like so many of the great spiritual truths. It is a paradox. Like "You shall find yourself by losing yourself." Or "Less is more." These paradoxes are difficult to totally understand, yet sometimes they take hold of us. And when they do, nothing is the same ever again.

There is That Within me that is my Christ nature. It is Unconditional Love. It is an absolute knowingness. It is of great value to me and my world.

I choose to honour this today and everyday by the way I live my life. I am Love made manifest and Love is the greatest healing agent in the universe. I am the Beloved in whom God is well pleased and I let this Love flow forth from me nurturing and blessing all I come in contact with.

As Love flows from within me, it aligns everything in my life - my health, my wealth, my relationships and my use of my talents – with that Divine Christ Pattern.

For this I am eternally grateful. I celebrate my conscious awareness of the Christ. And so It is.

Today I plagiarize a billboard I saw on a church marquee in Brookswood, B.C.:

The best vitamin for a Religious Scientist is B 1.

Dr. Holmes wrote on page 51 of the Science of Mind:

“One of the great difficulties in the new order of thought is that we are likely to indulge in too much theory and too little practice.”

This statement was written sometime in the early ‘20’s yet how true it still is !!!

With the success of the film “The Secret,” the collective Western consciousness is realizing the possibilities of the Law of Attraction. We in Religious Science have the benefit of studying the Law. We know this Law is always working for us, always has, and always will – but are we living it? Now is the time to go beyond theory and use it consciously!

Dr. Holmes goes on to write “As a matter of fact, we only know as much as we can prove by actual demonstration.”

Are you still struggling in any area of your life? That’s the area where you’re playing in the realm of theory. You might understand this teaching, but you haven’t subjectified it. Taking it to the subjective level means not only believing it intellectually, but feeling that knowingness at a deep cellular level, where it is so much a part of you, you don’t have to think about it.

In Hawai’i, we’d say “Hele Ka ‘Olelo” or Walk the Talk. What a great privilege we have, to be able to be the shining examples of conscious use of the Law. So – If you call yourself a Religious Scientist - BE ONE!

SPIRITUAL MIND TREATMENT

The Infinite Mind of God is the perfect place to reside. In this Mind is Love and Law. Love points the way, and Law makes the way possible. As I contemplate this Mind, I remember this is the Mind I am using. Within me is both Love and Law.

Today I choose to be more consciously aware of my use of the Law. I choose to let my intentions be loving and graceful. As I do this, I know I am an example for awakening humanity to its spiritual magnificence.

I walk my talk with ease.

I am so grateful for these teachings and my willingness to always take them deeper. What I am learning is how to be Real in every moment. I am filled with the joy and love of The Divine as I walk my Path. This is good, very good, and so It is.

This morning I woke up really tired of the rain. It’s been raining for 20 days - enough already!! I felt as grey as it looked outside my window. However, life must go on, and I got in the car for a drive to Vancouver to pick up some books for class. Not something I was looking forward to doing. Pouring rain all through Langley, beating down on the car roof in bumper to bumper traffic over the Port Mann Bridge, all the way down Highway 1 into the city. Yucko! Even the music on CBC was dirge-like.

As I got closer to town I started to notice cherry trees in full bloom. Instantly my spirits lifted. Regardless of the weather, those trees were doing what they do naturally – bloom gorgeously!

I remembered this is the way of the Universe as well. No matter what I’m doing, the Universe goes on creating beauty and peace everywhere. That is Its’ nature. That IS nature – and what a good teacher she is!

I heard myself saying “I love Spring,” and a quote came to me from Eileen Cady, the co-founder of Findhorn:

“It is love that changes the world, love that raises the vibrations, love that heals and makes whole. Love is the greatest power in the universe and that love is yours when your longing for it is deep enough. Let all you do be built on foundations of love, for love is so strong and sure that it can withstand anything. Love is not something to be talked about, it is something to be lived and demonstrated. It is very real and alive and it cannot be hidden. If love is there it will be felt. Start now to open your hearts and love, love, love. There is no better time than the ever-present, glorious NOW.”

My errand was at a book distributors – a mental candy shop for me. How I enjoyed walking the stacks and looking at all the new titles. I love to read! Funny thing – the drive back to Langley, even with the traffic, was much different than the drive there. Had it stopped raining? No, but now the rain was beating on the roof in a musical pattern, everyone seemed to be so much more courteous, and CBC had more uplifting music. I changed my perceptions – I started loving instead of resenting - and the world changed around me. Ahhhh, Spring. Thank You Divine Love!

SPIRITUAL MIND TREATMENT

As I contemplate the Great Oneness of the Universe, I return to my Self. I know who I am = Spirit in form. I am so happy to remember and appreciate the Power Within.

I choose today to have Spring in my conscious mind. No longer can anything outside of me affect me. I choose to enjoy the mysteries of growth, and the awareness of beauty. I am radiant, energetic, healthy in mind, body and emotions. All that there is, all that I am, is Love made manifest. How grateful I am to come back to my Self!

I accept responsibility for co-creating a Divine Life. I bless all challenges I have created for they have brought me back to Center. God is my Life, and my good. My Life is wonderful. Gratefully I release these words to Law and so It is.

A question usually asked during courses on Spiritual Mind Treatment (Religious Science’s form of affirmative prayer) is “How many times does one have to do a Treatment?”

“Until you see a demonstration” is my usual answer – however, I want to remind us that in Truth we are “praying without ceasing.” Whatever we are focusing our attention on is what will manifest, regardless of what our intentions are. If our dominant thinking is about our problems, we are telling the Law we want more of those. And the Universe says “Yes, my Beloved.”

We all know how hard it is to stay focused on what we want when what we’re experiencing is right in our face, especially with physical challenges. How does one, while in the midst of any kind of pain, declare they are healthy? I like using this phrase: “Regardless of appearances, my Truth is” … ie: Regardless of appearances, my Truth is my body is a reflection of Divine Health. Regardless of appearances, my Truth is I am living a prosperous life. Regardless of appearances, my Truth is I have a soul-satisfying, well-paying position. Regardless of appearances, my Truth is I have loving relationships.

Dr. Holmes writes “Daily we must consciously choose our position in the Law.”
Yet, we don’t have to do this by ourselves. We have an Inner Presence that is serving us at every moment. All we have to do is ask. The Master Jesus taught us to “pray believing it is so, and it shall be.“ This means to declare “I am _________” and to embody that declaration. However, if you’re having a hard time with an “I am” statement, here’s another idea:

My teacher, Rev. Helen Street developed an affirmation – she wanted to stop smoking. She kept reminding herself that Divine Mind was assisting her in attaining the consciousness of a non-smoker. One morning she called me all excited because she didn’t have any cigarettes in her freezer. My not being a smoker, she had to explain that her affirmation was working because a smoker always had another carton of cigarettes in the house. Unfortunately she later bought another carton … and I decided I would add something to that affirmation … so I say
“Divine Mind now assists me in attaining and maintaining the consciousness of _________.”

Let’s say I put health and wholeness in that space. As I make the declaration, the Power of Universal Law is behind it, and I know I am attracting whatever I need to make this declaration my Truth - the right thoughts, the right people, the right methodology – RIGHT NOW!

Absolutely everything begins and ends in consciousness … Thank God we’re in a teaching that states “Change your thinking, and change your life!”

Divine Mind is now assisting me in attaining and maintaining the consciousness of my authentic Self. I am Spirit in form, having a human experience. Everywhere I look, and everything I experience is The Divine. There is nothing else.

I celebrate this Truth. Knowing this, I do great things for myself and my world. I consciously choose to co-create health, wealth, love and creativity for all. I let my life be a shining example of living Truth. I let my thoughts of living Divine Life radiate through the collective consciousness, blessing all they come in contact with. God in me, as me, is doing magnificent work.

Gratefully aware of the power of my thinking, I release these words, knowing they have made a difference. I claim Good and share it joyously. And so It is.

A few days ago I decided to get a cup of coffee in a little shop in the mall I’d never been in before. As I sat at a table watching the hustle and bustle going on just outside the door, I could hear snatches of conversation going on around me. At that moment the occupants of the shop were women. I heard stories about children, spouses, errands, hairdressers, gas prices, dentists – and even though the stories were coming from different tables, there was one common denominator = Complaints.

Is this what our communication with each other has come to? Have we refined the art of complaining rather than the art of conversation?

I wrote in my journal “I now live a complaint free life.”

Of course, now that I was aware of complaining, I started hearing my own self-talk. As I pulled up to my building, someone was parked in my spot. I opened my mailbox to find someone else’s mail – again. I walked into my office to find bird feathers and other parts under my chair. Suddenly, I started laughing. I certainly have perfected the art!! I could have acknowledged that the person in my spot was moving things and my spot happens to be closest to the doors. I could have thanked Darling Daisy for bringing me a present - but I didn’t – I went into automatic complaining mode.

Once again I realize the value of one of don Miguel Ruiz’s 4 Agreements:
Don’t take anything personally. That’s where my complaints were coming from. It was as if each person (and cat) were doing something intentionally to me! Now really!!

SPIRITUAL MIND TREATMENT

I recognize the ever-present Divine Life that is flowing in, through and around me. This Life has everything in it necessary to the fulfillment of my highest good. All I have to do is declare a thing so – and all the power of the Universe rushes to make my declaration my Truth.
How grateful I am to be able to declare I live a complaint free life. My life is God’s Life – so there is really nothing to complain about! Every experience I have is a reflection of my use of the Divine Creative Field of Potentiality. I chose to know myself in a greater and deeper way, thereby reflecting only the highest good in myself, and all whom I come in contact with.

Gratefully, I release this Treatment, knowing the power of my words and the feelings behind them. All is well and peaceful in my world. And so It is.

I’m fascinated with the appearances in our world of a major consciousness shift on one hand, and all the individual and planetary crap on the other.

Let me list just a few things I see at this time:
- The success of an independent film called “The Secret” making public ideas most of you readers have known for a while.
- A film about global warming winning an Oscar, bringing awareness for our personal responsibility for our planet.
- A woman and an African American running for President of the United States.

Part of me wants to jump up and down with joy for this outpicturing of the changes in the collective consciousness.

Yet, so many people I know are experiencing illness at the moment, especially colds, or the flu. Years ago, when I was first studying Religious Science, Dr. Leo Fishbeck, of the Glendale, California church, mentioned that colds are commonly known in metaphysics as confusion … and that could be true, but what he also saw them as is the outward expression of a birth of something that had been brewing in consciousness. He related it to when a baby is born and mucus has to be cleared.

So here we are, experiencing a birth of something that has been brewing in the collective unconscious. We are living in a renaissance period! This is so exciting …. What other great events are going to come with this birthing?

OK, some of you are going to ask “but what about the planetary crap?” -- the violence, the seeming addiction to trauma and drama that is outpicturing as well. Once again, I remind you, that as a new consciousness is born, the old fights to stay alive. We’ve all experienced this in our own lives .. and we’re watching it on a global scale. Yet, as metaphysicians, what do you want to focus on?

Personally I’m enjoying being a “midwife” to a new Reality .. aren’t you?

There is only One Life, that Life is God’s Life, and that Life is my Life.
How grateful I am to know this Truth. There is only the One, manifesting infinitely in a finite world. I am grateful to recognize my part of the Creative Principle of Life.

I know I create with my intention and attention. I now choose to be a conscious co-creator. I turn away from appearances of anything that is unlike Good, and focus on the beauty, the magnificence, the wonder of living Life at this time. I relish my role as midwife to harmony, abundance, joy, health, and inner peace. I celebrate all my relationships as I move through my day, knowing they are all good, all God.

Gratefully, I know the nature of God is eternal and unconditional Love. I am a bearer of this Love to all. I know Divine Love flows through all experiences, and events, regardless of appearances. God is good, and all is well in my world.

I release this Treatment, knowing the power of my words and the feelings behind them. And so It is.

On Oprah’s second show, the “Reaction to The Secret” she made this comment:

“You can struggle against the current of your life or you can go with the flow.”

Years ago, when “Go with the flow” was a popular statement, I had a problem with it. I had a mental picture of lying on my back, lazily floating down a river. The problem was I had to go where the current took me. I felt that if people just went with the flow of the collective consciousness, there would still be the same challenges. If we thought the way we’d always thought, we’d get the results we’d always got. I was for making decisions & choices and following them to their conclusion.

When Oprah made her comment, the word “current” suddenly had a new connotation – I saw a new picture in my mind. I’ve often used electricity as an analogy for The Divine. It is everywhere around us, waiting to be used. Suddenly I saw myself as a transformer for the Infinite Current of The Divine to flow out into the world. I have, as do you, my own filters (beliefs, etc) that take the Divine Current and modify It as It moves through me into expression in the world. This makes the Current uniquely MINE. It enables me to operate with ease as I allow It to flow through me, or I can resist It. When I feel life is a struggle, it is a clear sign that I have tried to express this Energy in a way that is foreign to It as me. Perhaps I’ve tried to deny It, or tried to act like It was someone else’s energy. It wants to come through fully, and I might have, in my resistance, squeezed It down to a trickle. Thank God I can never totally stop the current as it is my Life force.

Now I know we are not only Transformers, we are the operators of this Divine Device. As the operator, all we have to do is open the channels to a fuller expression. Join me in letting go of the struggle, being a conscious operator and …. Go with the Divine Flow!

Gratefully, I celebrate the Divine Energy of the Universe as It flows through me. It is infinitely intelligent and unconditionally loving. It is my Life force.

I am open and willing to being a greater transformer – I feel this wonderful life force as It moves into every area of my life … I feel my relationships, my finances, my health and my creativity swell with the Infinite Presence and Power. I am living an authentically spiritual life, and it is a good one!

I am so grateful to be aware of my place in the Flow of Life. I take that place willingly, standing proudly in the Truth. Life is good in me, as me and through me. And so It is.

27 years ago, when I first walked into a Religious Science church, I learned a whole new language … it included words like consciousness, demonstration, manifestation, attraction etc., and my friends thought I was in a cult. This afternoon, Dr. Michael Beckwith and others will return to the Oprah show and a film called The Secret is a secret no longer. Our teaching is in the mainstream!

We are truly in a renaissance period! I’ve been saying for years that we are in the midst of an awesome paradigm shift – where a new belief system is moving into the collective consciousness. You might not think so when watching the news, however, Marilyn Ferguson, who coined the phrase “paradigm shift” in her book The Aquarian Conspiracy, in the early ‘80’s, wrote that when a new consciousness is being born, the old one fights to stay alive. I see this so clearly! Humanity is moving from a fear-based reality to one of common sense, from a greedy grab all to a quiet respect of Mother Nature’s ways, from a dependence on others to take care of us, to an honourable self-sufficiency, and from a sense of separateness to Oneness. We’re becoming more mindful.

What exciting times we live in! How grateful I am to have attracted to me the ways and means to keep being a part of this Global Paradigm Shift! How grateful I am to YOU who have been doing your part in this Great Work!

We DO make a difference!

SPIRITUAL MIND TREATMENT

At the core of everything, there is only One – One infinitely intelligent, unconditionally loving Energy that is the Source and substance of all things. This energy is Life Itself. It lives in me and through all others as Divine Consciousness. It is the only begotten, always begetting.

I now declare I have the consciousness of Oneness. Any thoughts of separation are false ideas I immediately release. My renewed consciousness brings me a great sense of inner peace, and an excitement for what is. I am a living expression of the Law of Attraction in action. I am whole and magnificent, immersed in Spirit as It lives through me. I celebrate my life and the lives of all others.

We have come a long way, and are moving confidently into our future. I am so grateful to be alive in this period of history. We are awakening to our spiritual magnificence. I claim this, I know this, and it is so. And so it is.

Everywhere we look today there are hearts – made of paper, candy, flowers, glass, ceramic, fabric – just about every medium we can imagine. The colours of red and pink and variations thereof are everywhere as well. Yes, it’s almost Valentine’s Day.

This proliferation of Valentine’s symbols is a metaphor for the inner desires of our souls. Red is the colour of life = physical energy, passion, courage, power, will, and desire. Red is powerfully linked to our most primitive physical and emotional needs of survival and self preservation. Love is one of those essential needs for survival. Pink is the color of universal love = emotional love of self and others, friendship, affection, harmony and inner peace.

We have a great need for loving and being loved, and consciously recognizing that this is so. I believe this is because God is Love – and God being All, this is what we are and that Powerful Presence of Love within us wants to be acknowledged!

The late Eileen Cady, co-founder of Findhorn wrote:

“Love is everywhere, in everything, around everything. Love is the greatest creative force in the universe. If Love were to be withdrawn, all would disintegrate. Love holds together, blends together; it is the together of togetherness.

Nothing can withstand the power of Love. With a heart filled with Love you can speak with wisdom, compassion and deep understanding and tenderness. You can speak with real authority because you are filled with My essence. Love is your true heritage. Why not claim it?”

25 years ago when I first started attending the Honolulu, HI, Church of Religious Science, I was struck by a long plaque that ran down the side wall. It read:

Be ye transformed by the renewal of your mind.

I soon realized this was what Religious Science was all about, and it is a statement that means more to me every year as I walk my Path.

It is so easy to become mesmerized by the world way of thinking. My recent health experience proved that to me. I originally hurt my back in a car accident in 1975. Every once in awhile I would do something that would make it flare up again. In 2001, when I was pulling weeds in my yard and ended up pulling out my back instead, I went to a chiropractor who told me I was in terrible shape, had a chronic condition and going to end up using a walker. I refused to accept that diagnosis and after a year of chiropractor visits and a lot of Spiritual Mind Treatment felt 100% better.

With this recent experience, I realized I had never let go of his “declaration” for me. The morning I had the appointment with a new chiropractor here in Langley, I stopped by the bank first. While painfully standing in line, not one but three different people came in using walkers. I’ve stood in that line every week for the past year and a half and have never seen even one person with a walker before! The old chiropractor’s words rang loudly in my head. I started rationalizing things. I thought, “Well, if that’s what is to be – I know I can handle it. At least they still have some mobility. Why, even if I had to be in a wheelchair, I could still get around.” I took a deep breath, and as I released it, I suddenly realized what I was doing – I was accepting being crippled!! I took another breath and consciously chose to release the fear I was holding onto, and then heard “There but for my consciousness go I.”

Thanks God! I immediately went into an argumentative type of Spiritual Mind Treatment, sending that part of my mind that likes to rationalize an acceptance-of- what-is-and-it’s-going-to-get-worse packing!!

A few moments later I was at my new chiropractor. When I told him what my old one had said, he responded “No way – it might take some time, but we’ll have you strong and flexible. I don’t see you having to use a walker.” Less than two months later, I am standing straight and tall, back strong and flexible!! The chiropractor’s amazed – and at my last visit he said “Well, keep up that ‘mind power’ you’re using –it’s working better than I expected!”

Be ye transformed by the renewal of your mind.

SPIRITUAL MIND TREATMENT

Gratefully I acknowledge the infinitely intelligent Divine Mind that I live in and that lives in me. The Divine has only my good in Mind. I am aligned in this good.

I now declare there is part of my Mind that acts as my silent witness, gently, easily and humorously nudging me when I am being mesmerized by the world way of thinking. I know what I think about predominantly manifests in my physical world. I now choose to think of Great Good for myself and all Life. God is my good, and manifests for me as health, wealth, creativity and love.

I celebrate knowing I can be transformed by the renewal of my mind. Daily I do my spiritual practices as a renewal process. Daily I am made again in the image and likeness of The Divine, and for this I am eternally grateful.

And so it is.

Last night I saw a television ad for Disneyland and was inspired by their theme “A Year of a Million Dreams.”

This made me start thinking: The population of Earth according to the World Population Clock right this moment is 6,572,310,537. This means there are a minimum of 7 billion dreams occurring right at this very moment!! 7 Billion potential dreams infiltrating the Inner Net. WOW! I now have an ever greater appreciation for Infinite Intelligence!

With a chuckle, I remember a scene from the film “Bruce Almighty” where the character played by Jim Carey got to take over as God, and was trying to work the computer for all the prayers that were coming through. He decided to say yes to all of them.

I believe YES is the only word this wonderful Principle we call God responds with. If we are dreaming little dreams, or limiting dreams, the Universe can only say yes. If we are dreaming BIG dreams, the Universe can only say yes. It is up to us to choose our dreams carefully !!

Each of us has probably had a million dreams in our lifetime… dreams of learning to walk, run, ride a bike, drive a car, dance, skate, golf, horseback ride, cook, write ,,, just to name a few.

I believe there is one common denominator in all our dreams .. no matter who we are, or where we live .. we want to be recognized as being of value to our world. The great spiritual teacher, Emma Curtis Hopkins, said a practitioner’s job was to remind people of who they are – Spirit. We are all practitioners of this science … let us recognize the Truth of ourselves and each other, and celebrate our dreams!

Let this be a Year of a Million Dreams made manifest! I KNOW who you are!! And I’m Grateful for your Presence,

SPIRITUAL MIND TREATMENT

We are living in an infinite Field of creative potentiality. This Field is the Creative Energy of Life. It is within me and knows me as Itself.

Today I choose to not only exist in this Field, but be a conscious co-creative director of the Energy of Life. I choose to know that not only my dreams, but the dreams of all people are valuable and good. I use God’s language and say YES! Yes we are living in a peaceful world. Yes we are prosperous. Yes we are healthy in body, mind and emotions. Yes we are loved. Yes, our dreams of being authentic are now revealed.

I now give Infinite Intelligence permission to easily and effortlessly erase all that is unlike the pattern of our Divine Perfection. We know who we are. God in form.

This is good and very good, and I am eternally grateful. I release this word, knowing it is done. And so It is.

Wednesday evening a group of us attended the YukYuks show at the casino here in Langley. We laughed for an hour and a half! As we left the theatre we joked about the endorphins we’d stirred up. We all had great big smiles and the world felt good.

We humans take ourselves way too seriously. Granted there’s lots going on in our world that takes serious consideration – however, Joy is one of the attributes of The Divine – therefore, one of ours. We want to live a balanced life and incorporating joy into it is part of the balancing.

One day years ago I was swimming in the hot ponds in Kapoho on the Big Island. As I floated in the warm water I was contemplating a challenge in my life. I was thinking of all the “coulds” and “shoulds,” just like I had been doing for a few days. I had gone to the hot ponds to relax, and it just wasn’t working. I remember telling myself “just let it go” and suddenly a child’s laughter rippled across the surface of the water dancing into every atom of my being. I could feel myself smiling in response, and suddenly the “challenge” didn’t seem so big at all. I let this child’s laughter, and the ensuing laughter from others fill me and lift me up.

Science is recognizing the importance of laughter. We’ve all heard how Norman Cousins healed himself of a terrible disease by watching slapstick movies in his hospital room. Dr. Madan Kataria, a physician from Mumbai, India, recognized the need for more laughter while on his morning walk one day in 1995 and created Laughter Yoga. It caught on so well that he and his wife now travel the world setting up Laughter Yoga clubs, teaching people how to laugh intentionally. This is wonderful, yet it’s also kind of sad, as it speaks to the idea that somewhere, somehow, as we grew up, we lost the ability to laugh naturally … or maybe we don’t feel like we have permission.

A Pranic healer once wrote: “Laughter comes from the center of our Being, the core of our heart. Our belly is so full of laughter that it permeates every cell in our body. True laughter is true prayer. When you laugh, the whole of nature laughs with you. It echoes and resounds and makes life worthwhile. When things go all right, everybody can laugh, but when everything falls apart, and yet you laugh, that is evolution and growth.”

Laughter is a sacred experience. It brings people closer. It relieves physical, mental and emotional pain. It makes our challenges shrink in size. Its like an internal aerobics session for our organs. It removes stress, enriches our blood with oxygen, and helps boost our immune system. Laughter really is the best medicine for mind, body and heart!

SPIRITUAL MIND TREATMENT

Oh Great Spirit of Joy, fill my heart with laughter!

Today I choose to take myself lightly. I recognize The Power Within and how easily I can direct It into a negative or positive experience with my dominant thoughts. Today I choose to laugh, to be joy filled, and to experience the delights of being alive.

As I make these choices, the whole Universe responds. I have let my Divine Child out to play. Joy is the sign of my alignment with and as God. How happy I am to be able to do this!

Gratefully, I celebrate Divine Joy today. And so it is.

As many of you know, I metaphysically interpret everything, and here’s something I’ve been mulling over for the past couple of weeks. Recently 3 major figures in our world died. James Brown, Gerald Ford & Saddam Hussein.

When I heard about James Brown, my thought was “We’re losing our soul.” When Ford died, I first thought about the parodies by Chevy Chase on Saturday Night Live, then about him forgiving Nixon, and then I realized Ford was a voice of integrity. When Hussein was executed, I thought, “Judas has died again.”

As we look around at the results of the collective consciousness of humanity, it does seem like we are losing our soul. We read and hear about random shootings, senseless acts of violence, horrific things I can’t even comprehend that humanity is perpetuating upon itself. Yet in understanding our teaching we realize everything “out there” is just a big mirror. On an individual level, how many of us are more concerned with the material effects of our lives than we are with our spiritual health?

Then there are those of us who are leading quiet lives in integrity, and are doing so in the best way we know how. Yet when something out of alignment happens, we think about it but don’t speak up. Sometimes when we’re around those that do, we feel embarrassed.

Then there is always the one who must be the Judas – the betrayer, the one who dies to bring a greater Truth to light. In Truth he was but our mirror .. a distorted carnival mirror, but a mirror none the less.

In my contemplations, I became even more aware that whatever I do has an effect on the whole of humanity and how important it is for me to do something. Yes, we teach individuality and self-responsibility, yet we are responsible for our brothers and sisters. They are us. In the book “Social Intelligence” author Daniel Goleman relates a story of a group of seminary students who were assigned the parable of the Good Samaritan to give a talk on. Every 15 minutes one of them left the room to go to another building to give their sermon. Their route took them past a doorway in which a man was slumped, moaning in pain. Over half the students ignored him, so intent were they in getting to their lecture hall. Little did they know this man was actually part of their curriculum!

So to James Brown, Gerald Ford and Saddam Hussein, I say thank you for being part of my curriculum. In your deaths I got the message to nurture and honour our collective soul, it truly is that part of us that celebrates Divine Life. To speak up in integrity and to put actions to my words, and to forgive and bless those who are our mirrors.

Each live is a Divine Life and has a Divine Purpose.

Let’s live that Purpose out loud!!

There is One Life, that is God’s Life. My soul reflects this One Life and everything It is.

Today I choose to see absolutely everything and everyone as part of this One Life. Regardless of any judgments I might have had, I see all expressing their Divine Purpose.

I put my hands out to the Universe and say Here I am God – use me in ways that empower the good of the collective soul. I am willing and I am ready.

As I do these things, my own life reflects this goodness. I am surrounded by an atmosphere of peace and grace. Gratefully I experience all that makes Life happy and worthwhile by means of me.

And so it os.
