I am so in awe of what I have attracted into my life I can’t stop smiling!! Yet, recently I noticed another feeling just under the surface of all this Joy. I finally figured out what it is… it’s a syndrome many of us experience called “Waiting-for-the-other-shoe-to-drop.”

It made me start thinking about why we can’t just accept our good unconditionally.

Some of the symptoms of this syndrome are:

· We all want more than we’re experiencing now, yet are suspicious when we get it.

· Someone does something wonderful for us, and we are suspicious about what they want in return.

· We feel our desire for more good is selfish

· We hear ourselves saying “good things never last.”

· In the midst of a wonderful experience we find ourselves thinking “this is too good to be true.”

In my ponderings of this universal epidemic, I’d say it’s created by a feeling of not being deserving. One of the bottom-line beliefs for everyone I have worked with over the years seems to be "I am not good enough!" Frequently added to that is “And I don't do enough.” It makes me wonder --- according to whose standards?

If we really believe what we teach in Religious Science --- that there is only one Life, that Life is God’s Life and that Life is the life we are living --- we would realize we are infinitely deserving of all good. We would also remember that our dominant thoughts are building our current reality, so if there’s work to be done on our deservability, let’s get to it! We are only bound by the beliefs of our past because we are allowing ourselves to be.

The Truth is we are all loved beyond measure in so many different ways. God is the Great Giver, it is our job to be a Great Receiver. We are magnificent beings, expressions of The Divine. Let yourself receive your greatest good and highest joy this week!! You DO deserve it!

SPIRITUAL MIND TREATMENT

There is only One -- one unconditionally loving heart I live in, one great mind I am using, one perfect life I am living. One powerful Presence that fills the Universe and beyond anything I can imagine. This is my Reality and It is good.

Knowing this, I now declare that Infinite Intelligence is working through me, erasing all I have embodied about not being good enough. I replace those old beliefs with the Truth of my being. I am worthy of all good – how could a perfect expression of The Divine be anything else?

I accept more good in my life as love, inner peace, great joy, and wisdom beyond what I thought I had before. This reflects in my relationships, my work, my finances and my body. I am now absorbing and emanating a Divine Pattern that is awesome! I know who I am.

Gratefully I release these words, welcoming the feeling they set up within me. I am deserving. I am whole, complete and magnificent. This is God’s Life, and I’m making it a great one!! And so it is.

When I was a very young girl, our family went to Palm Springs, California almost every weekend. I can remember sitting on a lounge chair by the pool, watching the old people. They were wrinkled and leathery looking from being outside so much, and quite a few had grey hair. I asked my brother how old he thought they were, and he said “Really old -- they must be 50!” To us, 50 was the end of the world.

Well, I’ve passed 50 and it sure doesn’t look like what it used to!! Of course, now I realize age is all a state of mind. A few days ago I was talking to an older woman in the market. She went into her stories of aging: the pain of movement, the illness, and the forgetfulness. I was so surprised to discover she is younger than I am!!

How many of us fall into the trap of “when you get older you will experience _________” It’s really not that uncommon. We’re fed messages of the symptoms of aging all the time. We all have something that fits in there. Mine was reflected to me at the eye doctors as she said “As you get older, your eyesight naturally diminishes.” I started to agree with her and caught myself just in time. “Not mine!” I replied, and she laughed. I decided right then and there my prescription would never change.

In The Secret, Rev. Dr. Michael Beckwith said what Dr. Holmes told us years ago: “You can begin right now to feel healthy. You can begin to feel prosperous. You can begin to feel the love that’s surrounding you, even if it’s not there. And what will happen is the Universe will correspond to the nature of your song. The Universe will correspond to the nature of that inner feeling and manifest, because that’s the way you feel.”

And that’s The Truth and I’m sticking to it!

There is only One Power. It is Love and Law. It is infinitely intelligent. It is Self aware. It is the Divine Presence that permeates all things including us. Divine Mind is the mind I have been using and always will. As I acknowledge this I celebrate my own Self awareness. This Self is birthless, deathless, and ageless.

I choose to let go of any concepts I might have embodied about getting old. I refuse to accept any beliefs that state I must “fall apart” as I get older. This body I reside in is my clothing for Divine Life to express Itself here and now. I treat it well. I enjoy the delights made possible because I reside in a body. I bless every aspect of how it works.

I am so happy to be experiencing Life in the fullest sense. I am grateful for having a body and waking each day to experience its health and gracefulness.

My Life is Divine Life and It is a good one! And so It is!

How are you doing with our Complaint-Free World Campaign? I’ve gotta tell you I’ve thought about quitting – this is harder than I thought it would be! I’ve even forgotten to wear the bracelet a couple of days. However, when we started and I realized how much complaining was part of my experience, I made a commitment. I had no idea it was going to take so long. I have been able to make it two days without changing my bracelet to the other wrist. Yea! Yet no sooner was I patting myself on the back about it, I found myself complaining again! For instance, I was walking through an organic vegetable farm market today, and heard myself thinking “They want me to pay that for those!?!” Complaining is so subtle … and the bracelet is doing its job by making me conscious of what’s going through my mind.

Someone told me they had made it through a week without letting the complaints come out their mouth. Which told me they were thinking them, just not speaking them aloud. I wanted to say “Hey, complaints are complaints” but it wasn’t my business to tell them how they should participate in the Campaign. Truth is, I’m doing this for myself, and I’m glad people are willing to play with me!

However, I want to remind all of us that our theme for this year is Experiencing Heaven in 2007. The only thing that keeps us from that experience is our consciousness. The point of our Campaign is to become aware of our thought processes. As we do, we will begin to see when and why we’re not living in heaven. And what is heaven? To me it is an embodiment of the consciousness of Oneness, of liberty, and joy.

This is what I really want. So I recommit myself daily. If you’ve been going through the same things I have - keep breathing - I KNOW we can do it!

SPIRITUAL MIND TREATMENT

Living in this glorious world of infinite possibilities, I celebrate Its Divine Nature. I celebrate knowing all there is is God. There can be nothing else. God is all powerful, all knowing and everywhere present – including right where I am. My life is Divine Life, and I am honoured to be an expression of It.

Today I recommit to living a complaint-free life. My intention is to live in heaven. I now declare my consciousness is clear that It is Divine. Everything in my life reflects this choice and it is good, very good.

As I make my intentions clear to myself, Divine Mind, through Law, assists me in attaining and maintaining them. I am so grateful for this wonderful process. I love Life and all that is in it! This Life is a good life – It is God’s Life!

And so It is!

The other day I was standing in a line … I have so many “ah ha” moments in lines J I was listening to a conversation between a Mother and a young girl. The Mother had said no to something, and was giving an explanation, when the child butted in saying “What does that mean?” The Mother started her explanation again. As I listened I realized the explanation didn’t mean a thing to the child, indeed it was just an excuse for saying no.

Later that day, someone asked me to do something, and I launched into an explanation of why I couldn’t, and right in the middle I remembered that scene in the store. It came to me how much we feel we have to explain ourselves to others.

I began to wonder if we feel we have to explain ourselves to God. Do we have to give a reason why we want something? Have we forgotten that the Law, being impersonal, doesn’t need an explanation, or an excuse for our desires?

Do you remember the cartoon character Mr. Natural ??

Me: “Mr. Natural, what does it all mean?”
Mr. Natural: “Don't mean shee-it.”)

Those of you who are my age will remember this character … and smile. We want Life to have meaning and so we give meaning to everything. So much so we share that meaning as excuses with everyone around us. Nothing has meaning except for what we give it. What if we didn’t need an excuse for wanting more good in our lives? What if we could approach the Law with a “Just because” attitude? Somehow it seems to me, if we need an excuse, we really don’t feel we are deserving of our good. Please understand that we are Living Law just as we are. The Law doesn’t care what we want to attract, It just works for us, through us, as us.

Maybe we need to start an Excuse Free World campaign!! Big Grin!

SPIRITUAL MIND TREATMENT

I recognize the powerful Presence here and everywhere. I know It is infinitely intelligent and unconditionally loving, and is working in this world through and as me. I really let this sink in. I embody the Truth: I am God made manifest just as I am.

I now choose to let go of my need to make excuses for myself and my desires. I am doing exactly what I am supposed to be doing. I want more money, and there is no reason why I can not have it. I want to be healthy, and there is nothing that says I am to suffer with illness. I want more love, and there is nothing that says I do not deserve it. I want to use my creative talents in the world, and there is nothing that says I am not supposed to. No one makes my laws except for me. No one gives meaning to my Life except for me. In remembering Who I AM, I now understand that Life is for me, and the Law will work for me, through me, for what ever I set my mind and heart to.

I now accept both the freedom this gives me, and the responsibility. Love points the way and Divine Wisdom guides me with ease and grace. The Law works wonderfully and I use It with great joy!

Gratefully I release these words, knowing they are already done. And so It is!

In class one day someone told me they felt affirmations didn’t work. Gently I told them “If you feel they don’t work, then they are working by not working.” What we focus on is what we attract into our experience.

Another student felt that when they were saying affirmations, or even the “realization” step of Spiritual Mind Treatment, they were lying. In Truth, they were not lying about the spiritual prototype they are creating with their thoughts, however, their desire to stay in integrity in the material world was working against them.

Then this morning I received an e-mail newsletter from Marty Marsh, author of The Law of Attraction for Everyday Living in which he included a three step process from a chapter called “Fire Your Desire”:

The first step is to declare what you want, using the words “I am in the process of _____” at the beginning … for instance, if one is Treating, Affirming or Intending for more money in their lives they would say:

"I am in the process of attracting all actions, thoughts, situations and experiences necessary to have all the money I need and want.

(Adding “I am in the process of …” would help the one that was uncomfortable about “lying.” Being creative, we are always in the process of something!)

The second step is to complete these sentences: (my examples follow)

• I love it when... I can pay my bills with ease

• I love knowing... I always have more than enough.

• I love how it feels... to never worry about money.

• I love the thought of... being able give away money.

• I get excited at the thought... of recognizing the Source within me

• I get excited when I picture...myself debt-free!

• I love seeing myself...as a financially independent person.

(This step would help the student who was feeling it didn’t work to get focused on what they wanted to feel.)

The third step is to take the thoughts and feelings and put it all together:

"I am delighted and grateful the Law of Attraction is creating and orchestrating all that needs to happen so I always have enough money for everything I want and need."

Marty Marsh says it is all about raising the vibration, which to me, is about raising our consciousness. There are so many delightful methods to play with in this wonderfully infinite field of creativity we reside in. Playing with Marsh’s process this morning reminded me of an even simpler one, created by the late Rev. Helen Street:

Divine Mind is now assisting me in attaining and maintaining the consciousness of …… having more than enough money for everything I want and need!

I personally like the simplicity of the last statement. I can trust Divine Mind to include the thoughts and feelings necessary. After all It is infinitely intelligent!!

SPIRITUAL MIND TREATMENT

There is only One Life – a Light that resides within me and all things. It is Power Itself. It is constantly attracting to Itself all It needs to express Itself as us, through our thoughts and feelings.

Therefore I now declare I am ready to step into a greater expression of this One Life. I let my Light shine so brightly that all who see me have a deeper awareness of their own Truth. As I attract more and more good into my life, I realize it has been there all along. All I had to do was open my heart and mind to It and It appeared.

Divine Mind is always assisting me in attaining the consciousness of highest good and greatest joy, in many different forms. I am so grateful I know this, and now, not only do I know it, but I have embodied it, and it is a part of me. Whether my good is in the form of money, health, love, creativity, inner peace, or all of them together, I know I am always in the process of creation, and this is good, very good.

I release these words to Spiritual Law, knowing they are done. And so It is.

Tonight I’m having a Gratitude Dinner at my home as part of our Divine Dining. I love having parties, and along with the planning, the cleaning, the wondering if I’m going to have enough chairs, etc., I’ve really been focused on all I have to be thankful for. There is so much!

Albert Schweitzer said

“To educate yourself for the feeling of gratitude means to take nothing for granted, but to always seek out and value the kind that will stand behind the action. Nothing that is done for you is a matter of course. Everything originates in a will for the good, which is directed at you. Train yourself never to put off the word or action for the expression of gratitude.”

I had never thought about “training” myself for an attitude of gratitude. Yet with the Complaint Free World Campaign we’re participating in, I see it is a necessary training. It reminds me of the story of Pollyanna, (who’s name many take in vain as they tell me “Don’t have such a Pollyanna attitude” -- like it’s a bad thing.) Pollyanna was taught to look for the good in all circumstances, and turned a town full of complaining people into one of joy and love.

The Catholic mystic Meister Eckhart wrote:

“If the only prayer you said in your whole life was, "thank you," that would suffice.”

SPIRITUAL MIND TREATMENT

Today I celebrate thanks giving. I am grateful to be more and more aware of the powerful Presence of the Divine in my life and all around me. I am grateful to know I am on a Path that will nurture and empower my soul as I honour the principles of Science of Mind and Nature and Life.

I am grateful we are all on a magnificent journey. As we open our hearts and minds, being grateful for all that is, and all we have attracted to us, we see we truly are living in the Kingdom of God. All around us is tailor-made for just for us by right of our consciousness.

If there is any place I am not satisfied, I am so grateful I can change my mind, and thereby change my life. I am grateful for the challenges I have attracted, knowing they have led me to a deeper understanding of my Self. I am grateful for the joys of my life, knowing they too, have led me to a greater awareness of Truth. I step out fully taking my authority as a Divine Being, because I am so grateful to know there is only One Life, that Life is God’s and that Life is my life.

And so It is.

Last night I got to see a great comedian – Toby Hargrave – at the Cascades Comedy Club here in Langley. Laughing was a great way to end my birthday! During one of his stories, a phrase he used jumped out at me and hasn’t let me go. It’s this:

“It’s not the differences that separate us, it’s the silences between us.”

I started thinking about the times I’ve had an experience that was way too embarrassing to share with anyone .. and of course, had only ever happened to me … only to later find the same thing had happened to others as well.

I’ve had people go through things, which when I found out about them after the fact, asked “Why didn’t you call me?” .. the common response is “Oh, I didn’t want to bother you with it.”

Why do we do this? Suffer in silence? Perhaps it’s because we’ve been taught as children not to “air our dirty laundry” or perhaps it’s because as New Thought people we’ve been taught that talking about what we feel is negative is wrong. Perhaps it’s because society has told us there are things that just aren’t to be talked about. So we muddle through, doing our spiritual work (or not) and trying to stay positive. Our embarrassment often stops us from talking with the people we love because of our fears of being rejected or because we don’t want to hurt their feelings.

We are not meant to go through anything alone. We are spiritual beings having a human experience and part of that experience includes all sorts of feelings and needs and desires. One of our needs is communication. We need to share with one another. The Truth is there is only One Story, and we are all living it. We’ve all had embarrassing moments, painful moments, frustrating moments, moments of rage, moments of pleasure and moments of joy.

It is our silences that separate us.

Yes, it is possible to hear someone’s story without buying into it. Practitioners of Religious Science do it all the time. We can stand in the Truth for each other, knowing who we are listening to is an expression of the Divine!

Oh, we can also share our stories without complaining J

SPIRITUAL MIND TREATMENT

I live and move and have my being in the Heart of God. This Heart is filled with unconditional Love. There is nothing I could have ever done, or will do, that can prevent me from experiencing this Love. Only in my mind can I separate myself.

Today I choose to accept my story as Life’s Story. It is filled with lots of moments, and it is shared with all. I let go of any embarrassment, fears of being rejected, or self-pity, and breathe deeply. I let myself participate in honest communication, knowing as I do, I am releasing the energy I have bound to myself by not sharing who I am. I know that as I let go I make more room for Love. And this is good, very good.

I celebrate myself as Spirit in form. I am grateful for the human experience. I no longer let my silences separate me. I live in peace. I feel the fullness of Being.

And so It is.

Whew! What a week! If you’re participating in the Complaint-free Campaign, I’m sure that you, like me, wanted to throw away that darn purple bracelet at least once this past week! I had no idea I complain so much!!

Take this morning for instance, if I had been wearing that bracelet, I would have changed wrists 3 times before getting out of bed!! Being woken by the sounds of massive machinery started my litany. When I came to my senses, so to speak, I put a stop to my litany by singing one of my favorite chants. Thank God for music!

I’ve had quite a few discussions on what complaining is. The Truth is, we KNOW when we’re complaining -- we just want to “excuse” it. As I’ve told many of you, all you have to do is feel your feelings! If you’re feeling whiny, you’re complaining!!

The Unity Pastor, Rev. Will Bowen who started this now world-wide campaign, figures that if the average person complains 20 times a day for 30 days, the 6 million bracelets shipped to date have stopped trillions and trillions of complaints. “That’s a lot less ear pollution,” he says, grinning. Not only is it a lot less ear pollution, just imagine what we are doing to the collective consciousness of humanity!! Whoo Hoo! Our thoughts are the tools with which we impress our life story on the substance of the Universe. When we choose our thoughts, we are choosing not only for ourselves, but for untold numbers of others. Choose to live Compliant Free!

SPIRITUAL MIND TREATMENT

There is only One Mind. It is Divine Mind, and this is the Mind I am using. I could call this Mind a vibratory Field, set up by our conscious and unconscious thoughts. I realize how important my part of this creative action is.

Therefore I let go of the need to criticize, condemn or complain. These things are not the Truth of my life or any others. I now choose to set in motion thoughts that are positive and life affirming. As I walk my daily Path, I compliment my finances, my health, my creativity and my relationships. I acknowledge and am grateful for the good in my life.

I look on all things and say as God said “This is good, very good.”

Gratefully I acknowledge my place in the Divine Order of Life. I am filled with possibilities and potential. Divine Mind now assists me in attaining and maintaining the consciousness of living complaint-free!! I bless my purple bracelet for the reminders it gives me, knowing this too is God. And so It is.

Whether listening to politicians, the news, my neighbors or sometimes even my own thoughts, one thing comes across quite clearly. Most people don’t want to do the work to create the “new model.” We just want to complain about the old, point fingers and expect someone else to make it all better.

Wouldn’t it be nice if there was someone that could make it all better? Well, there is – and that someone is US!! What ever I’ve been complaining about lately, I think it’s in my face because it’s up to me to do something about it. The time of passively sitting by is past. And where do we do the work that must be done? In Mind, of course. It’s up to us to get our underused imaginations back to work and create the new models. It’s up us to set clear intentions, and give them to the Universe. It’s up to us to trust that Infinite Intelligence knows what It’s doing. And it’s up to us to stop telling the stories of the old models!

This week the Celebration of Life Centre (which lately I’ve been calling the Celebration Centre for Conscious Living) is going on a Complaint Fast. We’re going to become a part of the wave of Complaint Free living that started in Kansas City, Mo., one year ago, with Unity Pastor Will Bowen. On March 9^th I wrote a Friday Message about complaining, which brought responses leading me to Bowen’s site. I saw that Bowen had created bracelets to remind his congregation about living a complaint free life. I immediately ordered some for us. Today over 5 million bracelets have gone out to the world! This is so exciting! Isn’t it wonderful how many different ways we get to participate in the expansion of humanities consciousness?!

We live in an infinite field of creative potentiality. This field is the Source of all that ever was, and ever will be. This Source is the Divine Origins of all. It is every where present, all knowing and all powerful. We live and move and have our being in It, and It lives in us, creating through our thoughts and feelings. We are an important part of this Field.

Today I choose to remember how the whole power of the Universe is in back of every word I speak. I choose to be complaint free. Divine Wisdom flows through me, coming into action in my life, affecting all I come in contact with and unimagined others. I am now a force for good in our world. My thoughts are positive and uplifting. My feelings are filled with grace and love. I bless this world with my Presence, and the world reflects blessings back to me.

Gratefully I live a complaint free life. I am inspired by helping create a complaint free world. God is good, and all is well. And so It is.

I read a piece on the internet the other day that went something like this:

“My 6 year old niece came in from playing, saying, "I have a splinter! I have a splinter"

"Does it hurt?"

"Yes! it is awful. See?" She shows me the finger with the splinter in it.

"I can remove it for you. Do you want me to do that?"

NO! It Would HURT!"

I have been talking with so many people about how important feelings are. This story is such a good analogy for what most people do. We’re so afraid of those old feelings hurting that rather than feel them and be finished with them, we keep them buried. We think we’re doing a good job “staying positive” when in truth we are being run by the feelings we are hiding from! On a TV show one day I heard this comment “Feelings buried decompose.” That decomposition attracts illness, depression and other uncomfortable effects.

Very young children’s feelings are right out there. They express them and it’s finished. A child might strike out at a playmate for touching her toy at the playground, and the injured party cries and runs to her mother. Yet 3 minutes later the two are back playing again as if nothing ever happened.

So many of us have had emotional traumas that we buried because we were told it wasn’t appropriate to cry. We felt we weren’t allowed to complete the natural cycle of our feeling nature. Now those feelings are lying in wait, decomposed, ready to sabotage our good.

We’ve all heard that a good cry is cleansing! If you have something you’re afraid to face because it might hurt, let me tell you it probably will – but the hurt won’t be forever. Feel the hurt and cry. Crying releases the emotional steam valves we’ve been working so hard to keep closed. The only way out of the pain is to go through it. This time you’ll be going through as the person you are now, not as the person you were then. You have all the Power of the Universe behind you, honouring your every action. You are safe, and on your way to wholeness (holiness) and that’s a good thing!

There is a powerful Presence that is the Source and substance of everything in the Universe including us. This Presence is infinitely intelligent. This Presence is Divine Love and Love is the greatest healing agent there ever was, is or will be.

As I recognize this Love within me, I allow myself to consciously embody It. I breathe deeply and feel myself being filled up. I am Loved. All the painful stuck places in my heart and mind are now washed clean with this Love. I feel the tears come up and let them out. As I do this, my whole being is refreshed and renewed. I know I am loved. I know that the Divine has my highest good and greatest joy in Mind. I am blessed beyond measure.

The places within my consciousness that were filled with pain are now filled with a deep knowing that who I am is of great value to the world. I am Spirit in form. I have opened up and let my authentic Self be revealed, and this is good, very good.

Gratefully I honour my emotional body that has worked to protect me for so long. I am grateful I can let go and let God be my nurturer. I celebrate my life because it is Divine Life.

Once again the church up the road has a marquee that made me think. It reads:

“Heaven – don’t lose it for the world”

We know “heaven” is a state of consciousness. I think of heaven as that place of peace within me where I absolutely know everything is alright in my life – and even if it isn’t, there is That Within Me handling all the details. Yet, it’s so easy to get mesmerized by the world way of thinking that we feel like we’ve lost “heaven.”

In an article by the author Gregg Braden, he shares three experiments with DNA. One of them was done by the Institute of Heart Math. 28 researchers, who had been trained to generate their feelings, were given a vial of human placenta DNA (the most pristine form):

“What was discovered was that the DNA CHANGED ITS SHAPE according to the feelings of the researchers:

1. When the researchers FELT gratitude, love and appreciation, the DNA responded by RELAXING and the strands unwound. The length of the DNA became longer.

2. When the researchers FELT anger, fear, frustration, or stress, the DNA responded by TIGHTENING UP. It became shorter and SWITCHED OFF many of our DNA codes! If you've ever felt "shut down" by negative emotions, now you know why your body was equally shut down too. The shut down of the DNA codes was reversed and the codes were switched back on again when feelings of love, joy, gratitude and appreciation were felt by the researchers.”

I see the relaxed state as Heaven, and the contracted state as what happens when we allow ourselves to become fearful and stressed. Gives new meaning to the song “Don’t Worry, Be Happy”, eh? Thank God we are living in a participatory Universe!

So – don’t lose heaven for the world J

There is That Within me that is powerful, loving, and intelligent. It is Universal Life/Mind/Heart. I am so grateful for my awareness of this Presence.

I choose to let go of the world way of thinking and bless myself and my world with my expanded consciousness. I choose to be happy. As I make this choice, the whole Universe moves to make this my physical Reality. I see the results of my choice showing up in every area of my life. I am healthy, wealthy, loving and loved. I am doing work that fills my soul. I am a blessing to my world, and am blessed by my consciousness.

How grateful I am to know these Principles. How grateful I am that I have the courage to consciously put them to work for the good of all. I’m living in heaven and celebrating Life!

And so It is.

These lyrics have been going through my head for days:

“But I would walk 500 miles …And I would walk 500 more”

Even after looking up the rest of the words, these lines were the only ones that stuck in my head. These lines sound like commitment to me!

It made me think that this is what we wanted from our Fathers …. To know that they were so committed to us they would go the extra mile.

Some of us didn’t have the kind of relationship we wish we had. What I do know this Father’s Day weekend, is that regardless what it looked like, our Fathers were doing the best they could at the moment. Just as we do.

Everyone shows their love in different ways. We may miss that love because we want it to look and feel like what we think love is. I remember standing outside my Father’s home one night by my car. He had come out with me, and clumsily put his arms around me and told me to drive safely. Then he fumbled with his wallet and gave me some money. I remember thinking “God, you’re drunk – don’t try to buy my love!” and in my judgment totally missed the sentiment …. A sentiment I was always looking for.

In hindsight, I can see how hard it was for him that night. His love language was to give us things. I wanted hugs and tenderness. He tried, and I rejected it because he followed it with money.

I think the best gift I can give my Father this year, even though he died a few years ago, is an awareness and an owning of my part in our strained relationship. I can let go and do as the last line of the song I started with says: “Surrender – surrender – surrender.”

SPIRITUAL MIND TREATMENT

In my awareness of the One Life, I allow myself to become as a little child. I acknowledge and accept all the Love that is continually being given to me. I know this Love is Divine Love, and It is unconditional.

As I accept that I am The Beloved, I feel my heart fill with an infinite peace. This peace permeates every cell of my body, creating health. It flows out of me with my breath into my workspace and creates a sense of well-being. It flows into my finances and fulfills my every need. It flows into the hearts and minds of all whom I come in contact with, and they know they are The Beloved as well.

I am so grateful for being a grown up child of God. I allow myself to be more like God in every moment. In gratitude and great joy, I let go and surrender to the Love.

And so It is.

I love art – all types of art. I love the creative process and am always dabbling in some medium or another. I receive an e-mail letter from B. C. artist Robert Genn twice weekly. This morning’s message spoke to me so vividly. He had included his “checklist for things an artist needs to do and think about while they are painting.” As I read the list, I thought “What a delightful way to acknowledge our creativity! In Truth, we are all Universal Artists!” Here is Genn’s list with my comments in parenthesis:

Paint with your eyes (See your personal vision as a Reality)
Think what things might become (let your imagination build on the vision)
Let the brush talk (I might capitalize Brush J or even replace brush with Vision)
Be in love with change (oh yes, any new “work of art” is going to change everything!)
Find the elegance (I love this one – the idea of simple elegance is delicious)
See the big picture (Imagine how your vision will affect others as well as yourself)
Make it a pattern (hmmm … macrocosm/microcosm J )
Identify the extraordinary (How about your willingness to be a conscious co-creator?)
Don't get gauche (Keep grace alive)
Keep it fresh at all costs (Our world is always shifting – is your dream still fresh?)
Take your time (as my Mother used to say (probably yours as well) “Rome wasn’t built in a day.” Excellence takes time – be patient.)

Genn also writes: “This stuff is all about a personal search for truth within one's own vision. Getting there is half the fun. If it were a recipe, everyone's truth might be the same. Only you can make your checklist and join the search for your own truth. Start your checklist now.”

SPIRITUAL MIND TREATMENT

There is That Within Us that is the Master Artist. It is infinitely intelligent and unconditional Loving. Through It flows our ideas, dreams and visions. We are using this Mind, living in this Heart, in a great field of creative potentiality, and knowing we are consciously co-creating our world.

Today I choose to colour my world with feelings of Love, Joy, Harmony and Grace. I declare I live in simple elegance, and Divine Energy flows through me with ease. I am a Universal Artist with all my tools for creativity within me. I allow my imagination to fill in the details pertaining to my life. I see the bigger picture, and recognize that this is Divine Life, and everything in it fulfills our desires for living authentically, abundantly and happily. I am co-creating a peaceful, loving world.

And this is good, very good.

Gratefully I respect my position as Artist. Gratefully I honour Spiritual Law, knowing as I have spoken & read these words, they are already done. Life is Good! And so It is.

Tomorrow my Goddaughter, Esther, graduates from high school. We are spending the day getting ready for the event, hence the Friday Message on Thursday.

I look at this beautiful young woman, graduating Suma Cum Laude, and all I can see for a moment is the miracle of her birth. I was there, in awe of the miracle of a new soul coming into our world. My memory skips ahead and I remember playing with her as a toddler in the hose on our front lawn … noticing her at age 5 standing in front of me on Sunday mornings, her hands in the same position mine were… Esther, her Mother, and I singing on stage at our Christmas Eve service … seeing her in school events & Shakespeare plays …. so many more memories clamor for attention in my mind.

I asked Rev. Tag (my ex) what memories he had – and he said what he remembered most, was that in all his memories, she was smiling.

I can only imagine thousands of parents are going through the same thing this week .. . a sense of pride mixed with a sense of loss, as this is really a turning point for both the child and the parent. I honour those of you who are parents. What an awesome responsibility to care take a new soul. As Gibran wrote in The Prophet:

“Your children are not your children.
They are the sons and daughters of Life’s longing for itself.”

Life is certainly doing a great job through and as my Goddaughter!! If she and her friends are an example of the youth of today – WOW! Our world is in for a treat!! I am so grateful I get to be a part of her life!

With a grateful heart I celebrate the children of our world. They are, like we are, Divine expressions of The ONE.

I know they are our future. I honour them as they step more fully into their lives. I declare for them a clarity and loving-kindness that exceeds anything we could imagine. I know there is That Within Them that is guiding them to the right place and the right experiences to express their authentic selves.

Regardless of world appearances, I know for them this is a great and peaceful world. One in which resources and knowledge are shared willingly. One in which respect and appreciation for differences is paramount. I know for them only the highest and best for all.

Gratefully I release these words, knowing they are so and so It is.

Today’s Friday Message comes to you from the Big Island of Hawai’i. I am sitting outside the church, enjoying the sunshine, the soft, sweet-smelling breezes and the sounds of mynah birds and doves. Thank God for laptops!

Yesterday a dear friend took me to the hotponds … it’s a place my Hawaiian kahuna sister calls “her office” … It is definitely one of my most favorite sacred and healing spots! As I was floating in the warm salty water, looking up past the palm trees to a blue sky dotted with white puffy clouds, I began to feel a sense of timelessness. I have no agenda except to be with people I love, honour my Goddaughter for her graduation, speak on Sunday and present a workshop. I have nothing to worry about. I don’t have to DO anything except Be. I decided in that moment of floating to let go of any need to plan while I am here. Just to surrender to the Divine and be in Present Time, letting everything be for the glory of God.

WOW! When one does that - watch out! This afternoon, there’s an impromptu party with women who were in my women’s group. Next week I’m being gifted with a night at the Hilton Waikoloa (oh la la – posh!) and also get to visit friends from the East Coast who happen to be here at the same time. Who knows what else Spirit has up Its divine sleeve! What ever it is will be wonderful. I know I am here to bless and be blessed. To empower and be empowered. And to have fun!

What would happen if we let go of our busy-ness when we weren’t on holidays? Can we trust enough to let the Universe be our daily planner? Yes, I know we have to go to work, and the grocery store. We have to pay bills, feed the kids, do the laundry, take care of the house, the car, and the yard. There are a thousand things to do …. Yet what if we did each of them as if they were sacred offerings?

Thick Nhat Han, in one of his books, wrote about doing the dishes as a sacred practice. Brother Lawrence wrote about doing his daily work (hard work!) as a monk, as practicing the Presence. You might be saying “Yeah, right, that’s easy to say when you’re on holidays! You don’t know what my life is like.” But what if we could come to a deeper understanding of how to empower this life and make it more meaningful in every moment?

Here’s The Secret -- Do everything for the glory of The Divine … and guess what? That’s YOU!! In practicing the Presence, you are honouring your own Self, and that’s a very good thing! The more we align our selves with our True Nature, the easier and more meaningful life becomes. Be blessed, be empowered, be Divine!

SPIRITUAL MIND TREATMENT

Divine Mind is now assisting me in attaining and maintaining the consciousness of my authentic Self. I am Spirit in form, having a human experience. Everywhere I look, and everything I experience is The Divine. There is nothing else.

I celebrate this Truth. I let go of the fears and doubts of my life. I let go of thinking about not doing enough – I just let myself Be. As I do this, I relax. I know everything that needs to be done, will be done with ease and in grace. I will do it with the consciousness of sacred practice.

I let my life be a shining example of living Truth. I let my thoughts of living Divine Life radiate through the collective consciousness, blessing all they come in contact with. God in me, as me, is doing magnificent work.

Gratefully aware of the Power Within Me, I release these words, knowing they have made a difference. I claim Good and share it joyously. And so It is.
