Recently two dear friends lost people who were very close to them. During these moments, and at other times when life seems so hard for us, is when I wish I had a magic wand or word, that I could use to make everything all better – sort of like a mother’s kiss on an oweee. But I don’t. We all have to go through what we have to go through. I can be there for you, spiritually, mentally and emotionally – even physically, but I can’t change your experience.

Many times the person who is left behind thinks if only they had done a certain thing – perhaps the results would have been different. What I know is that the person who had the experience is the only one who could have changed it.

Every Life is precious. I believe one of our innate desires is to be remembered as having made a difference in our world. Instead of thinking “what if”, we can remember the gifts our loved ones gave us. Those moments where we can’t even remember the date, but we can remember the smile or the touch or the laughter.

We can also realize how precious our own life is. We can choose to notice more of the blessings instead of the challenges. We can realize that just as the person who made their transition was important to us, we were important to them, and we are important to others in our lives as well.

Death is not a bad thing even though we do everything we can to avoid it. How we choose to leave is not a bad thing either. It is just a choice. Holmes writes in the glossary of the Science of Mind “The experience of dying is but the laying off of an old garment, and the donning of a new one.” Like the butterfly who dies to being a caterpillar, all of us will emerge from this earthly experience to soar!

SPIRITUAL MIND TREATMENT

Life is ever present. It is birthless and deathless. It is the thing that animates our bodies. It is our Real Self.

Knowing this, I choose to experience Life as the gift It is. I move forward on my path of human experience with a true sense of awareness that I really am a Spiritual Being having a spiritual experience I am choosing to call humanness.

I claim my rights as a spiritual Being. I claim that within me is unconditional love and infinite intelligence. I claim my place as a co-creator with Life. I choose to experience more joy, more peace, more of what I am – Love in action.

In doing this, I notice all the precious moments – the moments of laughter and the moments of tears. Facts and figures no longer affect me as they have in the past. I let myself feel things in the present moment, knowing that Now is the most important moment.

I am so grateful for Life, and for all the people, here and beyond that have touched my life. I am grateful for my conscious awareness of Divine Life within me, moving through me, as me, for me.

I release these words into the Law of Mind, knowing they are so … and So It is.
